Everyone who has seen this book at my house has loved it, along with Trains and Flight. I don't really think that all pop up books have to be all singing and all dancing. The information in the books and moveable parts make it more fun for anyone interested in the subjects and great gifts for all ages.

I bought this book for my 8 year old, and does like it! However, the pop ups are pretty basic

My son loves this book. The pop up boats are very nice. However, like most pop up books, some sections may be fragile to a excited child.

Compared to the German books we have this is a bit disappointing in that it does not have enough real learning information about how things work. Matter of fact, my wife and I have found most all American children's books woefully lacking real learning information about How Things Work. Out German books are superior to the fun/animal talking/silly American books that seem to be bent on teaching behavior rather than educating kids about how the real world works. (Besides, kids behavior is truly learned in life experiences and not on the couch.)
