Maritime History at Its Best,
By
This review is from: Shipwrecks at the Golden Gate (San Francisco, California) (Paperback)
Shipwrecks at the Golden Gate is an excellent resource for those seeking information on the history of San Francisco. Often overlooked in the history books, maritime history is an important topic for studying the history of the West as well and is connection to the hardy seafarers of New England who traded around the world. This book was a great resource for my own research and led to other leads.

A fascinating book. Very well-written tales and amazing photos. You'll learn about the disasters themselves as well as the business built around recovering goods from the sunken ships.
