Dame Bassey Does It Again With A Fun & Memorable Performance, May 12, 2003
This is an EXCELLENT DVD, and an excellent example of the quintessential Shirley Bassey. She proves once again that she's the best female vocalist in the last 50 years. Miss Bassey looks physically fit in the video, and much younger than her years. (She's 60 in this video) She's energetic and playful, and her voice just keeps getting better. When you see her do "Big Spender", "Kiss Me Honey Honey Kiss Me", and hear her belt out "I Am What I Am", you realize that Dame Bassey is one grandmother that ISN'T sitting at home knitting and baking cookies! I highly recommend this video for people that are just becoming familiar with Shirley Basseys phenominal talent, and for collectors as well. There's also a lot of behind the scenes extras, and the making of the "History Repeating" music video with the Propellerheads.

Shirley is Forever, October 29, 2000
This is a reasonably good concert, although I was at her 60th birthday concert (at the same time this concert was taped) and it was much better. That should have been released on DVD. The interruption of the behind the scenes material is obtrusive, and could have been refined to a separate section of the disc - or even placed on side B. It is inextricable to me why this is the only representative of Shirley on DVD. This disc is all very well, but why not have some complete (unedited) concert releases, or the BBC TV series from the 1970s? This is a good start, but Shirley's artistry could, and should, be much better represented in this medium.

The Incomparable Bassey Style, April 15, 2002
By A Customer
Shirley breezed by 60 with panache and elan, to continue wowing her audiences worldwide for her fifth career decade. This DVD shows off what so many have known all along, this woman has a voice to behold, and inordinate style to deliver it. She is unique, camp, brash, and all her own. Pounding through her hits like "Goldfinger," "Kiss Me Honey, Honey, Kiss Me," "Never, Never, Never", "Big Spender", "Something", and more, she claims each song as her own as only Shirley can. This grandma is not staying home making apple pie, that's for sure. The audience is eating out of the palm of her wildly expressive hands. Lithe, in an outrageously revealing gown, she gives this show the Bassey works -- flirting and triumphant -- right down to her signature encore swathed in an implausible coat of feathers and silver lame. If you're a fan: DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. If you're a novice: Welcome to the Bassey experience. What you see here is just a soupcon of being at her live concert, but she'll blow you away anyway.
