I love this CD. All the hit's this Diva has belted over the years, in one package. I love the ladies of song that can hold their own. Shirley does more than that. She holds the world in her hands when she graces any song or stage with her golden voice, and presence.

Next to Judy Garland, Shirley stands as one of the greatest singers of our time.

Wow -- I'd never really taken Shirley Bassey seriously until I listened to this album. Sexy, raunchy, knowing, flaunting ... that's Shirley! The remixes are brilliant -- Propellerheads, AwayTEAM & Wild Oscar must have been so inspired by her outrageous interpretive style, because the mixes they created fully support and do not diminish or dominate. The remix of the Love Story theme is forceful yet romantic -- the real gem of the album. Overall, the superb remastering on the original selections makes the 60's & 70's orchestrations even more dreamy and intensifies the powerful vocals.

If any one can get me up when I'm feeling down because of boy trouble, it's Shirley. I've heard of her from all the Bond films, and even though I liked those songs, I never really got interested in her....until, of course, I got this album. She has such a powerful voice, that I can't help but be swept away by it. This collection include her classics as well as recent remixes of her songs. Diamonds are Forever is my favorite Shirley Bassey song, and though it's been done over and over again, nobody can beat Shirley's version. What I think is special about this Greatest Hits ( god knows how many she's got )collection is the fact that it includes "History Repeating", a collaboration between Bassey and the Propellerheads. "History Repeating" was done about 30 years later than most of the other songs, but it is one of her best. I want to call it a classic, but it is not old enough. I have to say that I'm not a big fan of remixes, especially when it comes to people trying to put beats where they should not go, and I've got this preconception that most remixes try to make the song faster, into club material. Well this is not so for the few remixes on this collection. The remix for "Where do I begin" gave it some extra kicks of rhythm that the original did not have. I still think that the original was better, but the remix is not bad either. For "Big Spender" the remix did sound more energetic than the original, but not in a clubby way. The song had extra back up 'big band' parts add to it (I think) and was streched at parts, along with Shirley's voice, then let go as it spins out (in a good way) into a rush of drums. There is no doubt that the remixes could've been worse, and I've heard worse (I also own the Remix Album). So If you are a new, young (like me) Shirley Bassey fan then you should defintely try this album out, it's got all the MUSTs of Dame Shirley Bassey (I think she's a dame anyways).

Being in Show=Biz as a performer than agent=producer for many a year seeing all the greats at there best only two come to mind as perfection Judy & Shirley both could blow U away with talent but Shirley took it to the top/ In Porto=Rico inthe 70 at the Tropacoral Room in San Jaun I experance a proformance I will never forget one of a kind total control over everyone hipnoctic unforgetable experance JUST THE BEST OOOXXXOO Love Ya Shirl!!! Break a Leg!!

What Now My Love, Where Do I Begin? This cd is absolutely fantastic! Shirley has an amazing voice & you can tell by the way she sings, that singing is her passion. All of her "Bond" hits are here, along with many other treasures. "History Repeating" is simply a Classic song and when you hear it, you might just find yourself doing some funky dance straight out of the 60's. The remixes are great and I especially like the "Big Spender" remix. For those of you who love to lip-sync Divas, you will not find yourself short of material with this CD. Every song is a classic "performance", especially "This Is My Life". This cd from the Beautiful & Stunning Ms. Bassey (just check out the pictures from the liner notes) is truly worth the price of admission!

Shirley Bassey is one of my "new favorite female vocalists. This CD will give apt reason for others to say the same thing, I hope. A great handful from throughout the grand dame's illustrious career. If you've never heard Shirley, thik again. At best, you've had to hear her husky "History Repeating" on a TV commercial....that in itself should spark interest. My first run in with this very classy lady came by way of her "LET'S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE" album (represented here by "WHAT NOW MY LOVE?" with a moving Nelson Riddle arrangement) And speaking of HISTORY REPEATING, it's here as well. Earlier Bassey tunes like the poignant "AS LONG AS HE NEEDS ME" are flawless, and the somewhat 70-ish sounds of those 70's songs "SOMETHING", "FOR ALL WE KNOW" and "LIGHT MY FIRE" are somehwat dated but still tolerable when you consider the time they were recorded, and you allow yourself to get drenched in Shirley's unbelievable voice. A few of her "Bond" film themes are here as well, including Shirley's big-hit and big-sound on "GOLDFINGER". Recently some of the world's finest DJ's got together and remixed the sassy Miss Bassey. If you're contemplating that album, check out this one first...there's three of those mixes here to close the album out. (That remix album is by far one of the most intriguing and spirited devisions the music business has done in years, in my opinion) Meanwhile, get this and enjoy Shirley Bassey as she gives (as another one of her songs goes) The GREATEST PERFORMANCE (s) OF HER LIFE!

Sweetheart, she's got the range and the looks to match. Mr. Barry you aren't nuts your deaf. Strong, powerful and spinetingling is all I can say.

The over the top outfits, the hand gestures and the distinctive way she moves that mouth has made her a worldwide star for decades.
This is one of those motivational collections that shows Britains most glamarous granny in her tantalising prime!

If you love strong vocals, you can't miss with Ms. Bassey. I fell in love with her music the first time she sang a theme from the James Bond 007 series. Every song is a hit! You won't be sorry with this purchase.
