OK let me say this first so you know where this is headed. I love Shirow Masamune. His art has improved with his age and his move into the digital age. This book contains some of his earlier work that does not rely on a computer as much as his newer stuff does. It has newer stuff as well. One of my favorite things about this collection though is the addition of the Exon Depot comic. It's an excellent story told without words! His women are sexy. Some may say they are out of proportion (their waists are too skinny) but I like it! This is particulary true of his newest art. This is actually mostly his older work and besides the comic, is a traditional artbook. The later volumes are alot more sexual (blurry bars block the naughty bits though) and resemble a manga layout. This book is layed out to be viewed from the back to the front like a traditional style Japanese book. It's also pretty small overall. Not too many pages and it measures in at 6 1/4 by 8 1/2 inches. It is a hardback book. I own this volume all the way up to volume 6 and while not my favorite out of this series it is still perfect in my eyes. I recommend it!

This little book has some very glossy pages. There are some adult themes in this book, but overall, the art is amazing. That's really the best I can describe this book. It's not that big, plenty of detail in the art, as well as some examples of where he could have taken a character in some of his manga (mostly color changes on the clothes). You'll find yourself going through the pages more than once to see if you missed something on occasions.
