I dont normally write reviews, but I have to for this stuff since its so awesome! I dont know what the prior reviewers beef is with this product but I have nothing but great things to say about it! I read about it in People and decided to try it... it totally depuffs my eyes and removed the tiny crows feet that were forming. If you want a super soothing and hydrating eye mask that will make your eyes look amazing, buy this stuff. The first thing people look at when they see you is your eyes, why not invest in making them look uber sexy? Estee Lauder Cooling Eye Illuminator is another good one to use in conjunction with this if you want truly amazing eyes!)

This "Pure Retinol" product lists retinol as the 24th out of the 32 ingredients. Shiseido's website calls "Pure Liquid Retinol" a delivery system, and doesn't even mention retinol as an ingredient while touting hydroxyproline as the magic chemical.

This is actually a good news since retinol is a powerful teratogen, which causes birth defects with pregnant women. There should at least be a warning in bold type on every package if retinol is a substantial ingredient of a cosmetic product.

Lastly, all your skin needs is moisturizer and UV protection. Large molecules don't penetrate the skin and simply and literally go down the drain. Getting rid of the dead skin with abrasion(sea salt, crushed seeds) or dissolution by chemicals (AHA) will temporarily soften the skin but at the same time causes damage since the protection layer is removed, and your skin will work hard to replace the dead cell layer, which makes any "benefits" temporary.

Don't waste your money. Glycerine and a zinc oxide-based sunscreen (Badger, Blue Lizard) would be sufficient.
