Lots of fun!, September 13, 2007

I bought this album several years ago after I fell in love with Peter and the Test Tube Babies. At first listen, I thought this album was horrible because, although the performance was classic Test Tube, the songwriting and lyrics were total crapola. However, this perception was due to my own naivete. This is an album of covers of bad British pop and disco tunes. Being from America, the only song I recognized was the Bananarama cover.
After I learned that all the songs were covers of horrible pop songs, I was able to embrace the album for what it is: fun and awesome. You can tell that they are having a blast with this. My inital dislike for the trite lyrics and cliched subject matter flew out the window once I understood what they are trying to do. I knew that the Test Tubes could not write such bad songs if they tried! Highly recommended.
