Buy multiples if you can!, May 30, 2008
This review is from: Shock Absorber Women's Medium Support Pump Sports Bra Top #4246 (Apparel)
I have a very small bust, so I'd pretty much resigned myself to never wearing a sports bra since the last thing I needed was to look flatter than I am! But this one, which came highly recommended by the owners and buyers of my favorite petite lingerie boutique, has all the pluses you're looking for: sexy but still sporty, plus it shows just a smidge of cleavage and provides a very flattering, gently curving shape without looking fake (to that end, it's one of the best bras I've ever tried, sports or not). On a more practical note, the fabric breathes pretty well and it works for the workouts I do, which involve a lot of sprints and boxing conditioning and kickboxing and boot camp drills.
Curiously I bought a black one from Amazon.com and a black/white one from that petite lingerie boutique, and for some reason the b/w one seems a bit smaller, has a slightly different cup shape (a teeny bit more pointed, which I don't really dig), and the racerback band is white, not black--even though the b/w and black one are the same model and band/cup size. I suspect they came from two different manufacturing batches. In any case, I whole-heartedly endorse the black one from Amazon...I'd have to see the b/w one from Amazon to recommend it as unreservedly, but it's still a good sports bra.

A Workout Getting It On; 'Floating"(Removeable) Pads"; But Otherwise Great, October 20, 2010
This review is from: Shock Absorber Women's Medium Support Pump Sports Bra Top #4246 (Apparel)
If you are looking for a good quality sports bra/top that has excellent support and is comfortable - even in a large size- without underwires, this one "fills" the bill. In addition the racer back and halter style straps added to the materials that are light and stretchy but hold you and it's shape well and you have the added benefit of a bra that is terrific for your posture, even after hours of wear.
It took a little getting used to - and as much as I love it now that I'm used to it - there are just a couple of things that keep me from going 5 stars.Because of how controlled(shape-wise) it is, the first thing was getting used to the over-the-head style with high straps. This was a real challange for me at first. I felt like I needed to be a contortionist to get into it and practically needed a break after I got one side on. When I did finally get it on,it felt quite bulky(I also wasn't used to padding) and then I had to arrange the padding inserts as they seemed to float around like the old style shoulder pads used to do.Then I discovered that there were slits on the sides of the cups and I could just pull them out, which I did, and all of a sudden I discovered how wonderful this bra really is. But if you decide to leave the pads in, you'll need to check yourself in a mirror - often.
So once I got the hang of getting into it, I found it was comfortable enough even to wear all day, There are no shoulder adjustments, but they are not needed, they straps hold you up and stay that way. There are some adjusments if you need them on the sides. A plastic clasp that has 3 placement slots should give you a snug fit when you need it and you can adjust a little looser when you don't.
I washed by hand and hung to dry.It retained it's shape well. The fit gives a nice lifted and smooth look(remember to check on those pads!) even worn under clingy tops. It's well ventilated and seems like very high quality merchandise that I will get good use for a long time. So 4 stars as although I love it and think it is a good buy for the money, I also thought that for the price, that one shouldn't have to worry about little things like floating padding.
My order came from Bare Necessities and as also gave quick and excellent service.
Recommended...thanks....Laurie
P.S. I don't know why it is called a "Pump" bra, I mean there is nothing to inflate or anything - Thank goodness!

Actually supportive in larger bra sizes, July 19, 2009
This review is from: Shock Absorber Women's Medium Support Pump Sports Bra Top #4246 (Apparel)
I am normally a 34DD, but I buy 36D in this sports bra. It is the only bra I have ever owned that I can comfortably run in. I have tried soo many sports bras and was always uncomfortable running because nothing was supportive enough. This one is it for me.
