Product Description

The Power Gel DNA has a dual density semi-rigid exoskeletal frame, rear molar cushions, and a solid outer shell with wall extensions that help reduce jaw injuries caused by front and side impacts. The soft Gel Fit material custom molds to teeth for a tight, comfortable fit. With its convertible quick-release tether, the Power Gel DNA can easily be used as a strapped or strapless mouthguard.

This mouthguard would be good for any sport where you where a helmet... But it is not good for boxing!!! It works good to stop concussions but beware if you get hit in the mouth your lip will split open, it has happened to me twice. So I decided to get the Shock Doctor double mouthguard which provides the same concussion resistence and also alows easy breathing.

DO NOT BUY (if you are expecting lip/mouth impacts). I bought this mouth guard not realizing the black plastic in the picture is quite rigid. It gave me a fat lip almost immediately and I had to go out and buy a soft mouth guard before my next practice. Bad for any type of impact or contact sport like Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing etc.

I have a shock dr mouthguard from 2004 that did the job, but this one is a bit improved. Its definitely cushier and molds much better. Quite happy with it. Only caveat is that it exposes your top lip a bit in contact sports (boxing), but I'm using it for ultimate frisbee and basketball and hits are not expected to the face that often.
