Can't review the quality or comfort for this item as we returned it due to poor sizing and didn't want to bother with any future sizing issues. My son wears adult medium in everything (32" waist), so that's what we purchased. He couldn't even get them past his hips and these were supposed to be 'loose fit'. When we stretched the waist as much as we could it barely made 32"- how is this supposed to get over the hips? Went back to I-techs,they have plenty of stretch (he can still fit is his old size smalls in these).

I read the other reviews of this item and ordered my size based upon them, however even ordering up one size wasn't enough. I normally wear a large so I went for the XL but there was no way that I was fitting into the XL so I tried an XXL and still couldn't fit into them. I called Shock Doctor to ask if their sizing was off on this particular item and was told that it was not. The gal I spoke with pointed me to their sizing chart which does seem to show that you should order a size larger then normal but two sizes and it still doesn't fit...no way. a XXL should be falling off of me.

Anything Bauer, CCM and even Reebok for hockey I comfortably fit XL. I took everyone's advice and went up a size, from XL to XXL. This thing is so mammoth that it goes from above my belly button to the bend of my knees. It is 1" shy of the lenght of my 52 tackla pants, and the Velcro tabs on my socks come so much higher up my legs than the tabs on the shorts that they miss each other unless I want the socks all bunched up in the cuffs of the pants (no thanks!).

can only believe Shock Doctor has listened to all the feedback and gone with 'Walmart sizing' where everyone's a 'medium'. The XXL were so ridiculously large I'm going with a L.

Here's the deal. Everyone seems to be complaining about the sizing on this item. That's because for once in your life, the manufacturer is not fudging the numbers to make you feel better. Vanity sizing doesn't just exist for women. Those 36" pants you bought at Old Navy are actually a 40" waist. The reason why you have to jump up a size or two is because Shock Doctor is using actual inches, not some made up number to make you feel good. Grab a tailor's measuring tape and wrap it around your waist. Now you know what size you should buy. Once you've done that, you'll discover that this is a great item, very comfortable. It holds your socks and protects your jock. What more can you ask for.

Poorly designed product.

Wearing these jocks naturally, the cup lands just below the belly button. Wearing them unnaturally low on the waist, the cup hangs loose with minimal protection and plenty of pinching potential. The cup also seems significantly undersized for adults. For me, wearing this would probably be less safe than no cup at all.

Bought a Shock Doctor cup and traditional strap, which is well-designed and fits perfectly. I would recommend that instead. Very disappointed.

Even if you go up a size, and they are way off on their sizing, anyone who says different is a liar or got a very different product,
the straps holding the jock are designed for some alien creature and have near zero elastic, so your junk is unprotected.
Total joke. Cant return it, so in the trash it goes.

Very good Jock, but like most items from this company, they are sized smaller than advertised. So just get one size larger and you'll be fine. Very durable. My first one is on life support, but has lasted 8 years with regular use (twice a week).

I bought a size up which was a good idea! I have to say that the cup shape is not really that comfortable for me... it sits very strangely... but it does get the job done. You HAVE to buy a size up from what you normally would buy!!!
