4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for a "young adult" shocker!
"Blood Wolf" is a slightly gory book about the second son of a king who has died. The older son feels that the best way to protect the throne, which is already rightfully his, is to kill his younger brother.

The book is loosely set in a Medieval wintertime, though not historically so. Included in the cast of characters are a shapeshifter and a goddess.

2.0 out of 5 stars Gruesome, fast-paced, a satysisfying thriller...SCARY!
Do you like scary books that don't give you nightmares? This book has a nightmarish quality to it, but NO BAD DREAMS! The illustrations are gory and gruesome, as well as the book. A nice, bloody, horror story for night-but don't go out of your way to find it. And if you liked BLOOD WOLF, there are a series of other SHOCKERS™ books for you to devour...If you dare..

While "Blood Wolf" is a bit gruesome for my adult tastes, I can see many a teen liking this tale.

To the young adult who does enjoy this book, in addition may I respectfully suggest Stephen King's "The Eyes of the Dragon." It's longer, but it's a very good story that you might just love!

4.0 out of 5 stars Got Blood?, April 27, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Shockers/blood Wolf (Paperback)
This book has a lot of blood, but there's other stuff too like blood, and also blood. There's truth to it too, like evil kings with unjust rules and laws. I really liked it because the main character was strong but human. The end was totaly fiction and totaly unique. The bad guys got what they deserved to say the least.I rated it four stars because it wasn't perfect. This book was a real thriller.Pennsylvania

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloodiest and Best, April 27, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Shockers/blood Wolf (Paperback)
Although this book had a lot of blood, it had a lot of other stuff too, like blood, and more blood. There was some truth to it though, like the part when the king wanted his brother dead so he could not be overthrown. The end is totaly fiction. He should have just given into the godess. Although the story wouldn't have been half as good because there would be no justace for him. Even though hois enemys did succeed they also failed. They failed more than they succeeded. The book was a real Thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gory, yet brilliant, April 24, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Shockers/blood Wolf (Paperback)
Although this book is extremely gory, it is one of the best books I've ever read. Tons of blood. Stabbing, chopping off appendages, killing relatives, and thats just to name a few. The best part was when he killed one of his worst rivals. Yet, before his transformation, he was a very kind, gentle person whom everyone wanted to become king, except himself of coarse. Great for supernatural, save the animals kind of people.

Do you like stories about medeival times dripping with blood? Then read BLOOD WOLF, the story of a young man hunted by supernatural wolves and his own murderous brother. Gushing with blood and dry humor, BLOOD WOLF is a perfect (although out-of-print) bloodtime-er, deadtime-Wait! I mean bedtime! story.

This review is from: Shockers/blood Wolf (Paperback)
Do you like tales of fantasy and medeival times dripping with blood? Then read BLOOD WOLF, a story about a boy heir to the throne, hunted by supernatural wolves and his own murderous brother. Gushing blood and dry humor, this book is good for anyone 9-13. Plus, wicked comic-book-like drawings. So read this book--but beware. It's out-of-print and nightmarish.
