About the Author

Rosemarie Scolaro Moser, Ph.D., ABPN, is a licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist, and director of the RSM Psychology Center in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where she provides services to the school-age through older adult population. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honors and her Ph.D. in Professional Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her publications have covered the topics of personality, violence, parenting techniques, brain disorders, learning disability, and psychophysiological illness. Dr. Moser is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists, and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She is a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and is certified by the American Psychological Association College of Professional Psychology in Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. Dr. Moser will serve as President of the New Jersey Psychological Association in 2003, is Past President of the New Jersey Neuropsychological Society, and is a former faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania. She and Dr. Corinne Frantz served as coeditors of the first Shocking Violence book entitled: Shocking Violence: Youth Perpetrators and Victims.

Corinne E. Frantz, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who practices clinical psychology and neuropsychology with children and adults in Maplewood, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Tulane University, and her Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida with a minor specialization in Neuroscience. She took her postdoctoral training in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy at Adelphi University in the Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies. She is on the Contributing Faculty of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, Rutgers University, and is a Clinical Associate of the American Projective Drawing Institute, New York City. Her publications have been in the areas of projective assessment, neuropsychological disorders, and correlates of early childhood trauma. She is Past President of the New Jersey Neuropsychological Society, past board member of the New Jersey Psychological Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Psychological Association Foundation. She and Dr. Moser served as coeditors of Shocking Violence: Youth Perpetrators and Victims.

Rosemarie Scolaro Moser, Ph.D., ABN, ABPP-RP, is a licensed psychologist and board-certified neuropsychologist and rehabilitation specialist, as well as the Director of the RSM Psychology Center, LLC, the Director of the Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey (www.sccnj.com) and the Director of Research Programs for the International Brain Research Foundation. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude with Honors in Psychology. She also received her Ph.D. in Professional Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded the Pi Lambda Theta Outstanding Doctoral Student of the Year. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology, as well as a former President of the New Jersey Psychological Association (2003-2004), a former president of the New Jersey Neuropsychological Society (1999-2000) and former Treasurer of the National Academy of Neuropsychology (2004-2007). In 2003, Dr. Moser was awarded the American Psychological Association Presidential Award for Advocacy in Psychology (Karl Heiser Award).
Dr. Moser is a clinical and research neuroscientist who treats individuals with a variety of mental and brain injuries, diseases and disorders. Dr. Moser is an internationally renowned expert in the field of sports concussion. She is the official concussion doctor for the Philadelphia Soul Arena football team (co-owned by retired NFL star and current ESPN Monday Night Football commentator Ron Jaworski and previously owned by celebrity Jon Bon Jovi), for the Trenton Steel Arena Football team, and for the Trenton Titans pro hockey team. She is the primary author of the National Academy of Neuropsychology Official Position Paper on sports concussion, as well as the author of groundbreaking scientific research identifying the enduring effects of concussion in youth with publications in Neurosurgery and other medical journals. In 2008, she was the planner and coordinator of the International Conference on Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury and presented the findings to the U.S. Congress. She has lobbied tirelessly for increased funding in the areas of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) awareness and education, in partnership with U.S. Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ), co-chair of the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force. Dr. Moser is one of four key investigators for a $6.4 million U.S. Department of Defense grant to discover a new treatment for patients with Severe Disorders of Consciousness and Coma.
Dr. Moser is a seasoned media expert and has appeared on ABC Eyewitness News-New York, CBS News-NY, Comcast Cable TV, WPVI TV Philadelphia, and other local and national news shows to discuss the dangers of sports-related concussion. She has been interviewed on CBS National Radio News and WHYY Public Radio Philadelphia, and her research has appeared in numerous publications, including the USA Today, Washington Times and Philadelphia Inquirer. Dr. Moser also has an extensive publishing background, and has authored research papers, book chapters, and articles in more than 50 publications, including Professional Psychology: Research and Practice, Neurosurgery, and Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology. She is the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Neuroscience: Sports Neurology, and the editor of Shocking Violence: Youth Perpetrators & Victims (Charles C. Thomas, 2000) and Shocking Violence II: Disaster, War, and Terrorism Affecting Our Youth (2003).
