From Library Journal
Sexual harassment has been a societal issue since the dawn of recorded human history. It has also been a global one. Not until recently, however, has its exposure found a real voice. In her previous work, Step Forward: Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (MasterMedia, 1991), Webb focused on ways to handle the issue on the job. In her latest groundbreaking study, she examines the worldwide occurrences and implications of the problem. Her case is substantiated with both statistical and anecdotal evidence. Far from simply offering a chronicle of data, the author provides concrete advice on what can be done to change things. The book's final chapter expresses Webb's concerns and hopes for the future and is appended with excellent resources. Essential reading for anyone (which should include everyone) with an interest in this area.

Review
Shockwaves is the most thorough discussion of the global pervasiveness of sexual harassment that I've seen. It documents in appalling detail the harasment of women in every country, of every color, and of every econimic class. Sisterhood is global, and so is sexual harassment. --
Judy Mann, Washington Post columnist and authorShockwaves teaches with power, conviction, and feeling. Many books on harassment miss what is the most powerful aspect of Webb's book, 'What do I need to do?' As a trainer, I find this book to be a significan adition to my library. --
