About the Author

A citizen of both Canada and the United States, Connie Colker Steiner is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, lived in Manitoba for many years, and now lives in Margate, New Jersey. She received her BFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where she won the George Sklar Award for Life Drawing. For over 15 years, Ms. Steiner worked as a lyricist and artist for "Sesame Street." The Jewish Publication Society published her first children'Â’s book in 1987. "On Eagle'Â’s Wings and Other Things", written and illustrated by Ms. Steiner, was named an Our Choice Selection by the Canadian Children's Book Centre in 1991.
