This delightful fondue set is a romantic piece that will warm up any kitchen. It also makes a wonderful wedding, housewarming, or holiday gift. The pot itself is 5-3/4 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches deep and tops off at 5-1/4 inches tall when sitting on its sturdy metal stand. It's amazingly easy to use. Once you've heated chocolate up on the stovetop, just pour it into the fondue pot. Then, put a votive candle (eight are included) into the holder, and slide the holder under the fondue pot. Next, skewer marshmallows (a box of midsized marshmallows comes with the set), strawberries, bananas, or whatever is desired on the two included metal fondue forks and start dipping. To help get the party started, the set comes with a tin of gourmet milk chocolate, a tin of strawberry-flavored chocolate, and a box of premium chocolate.--A.J. Rathbun

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas since she loves chocolate. Inside the display case, it looks awesome which is why I got it. I rated this 1 star for two reasons:

1. The features list 1.77 ounces of gourmet milk chocolate, 2.8 ounces premium chocolate, 1.77 ounces of strawberry flavored chocolate. From this you would imagine that this is chocolate to melt in the fondue pot, right? Well, the chocolates that were included were just a few regular chocolate candies which are clearly labelled as not for use with the fondue kit. From my perspective, this is essentially false advertising as you would reasonably expect for the included chocolate to be usable in the kit, no?

I can only imagine that they ran out of the correct chocolate and included chocolate candies instead. You can't imagine the disappointment looking into the two tins of chocolate only to see 5 small candies at the bottom, not for fondue use!

2. In order for the pieces not to shift in shipping everything is covered in a gooey sticky substance which was only removable with GooGone, the highly effective but poisonous goo remover.

I do not recommend purchasing this item.

This is a wonderful gift! Fondue is very hip right now and I love giving this set to friends and family. It's an easy gift to add onto too--just box up a few little things (maybe a poundcake or some fruit) to give along with it. I also like it because after you've eaten all the foods it comes with, you still have a cute little fondue pot to keep forever!
