pleasantly pleased with product,
This review is from: Shoo!TAG Flea and Tick Barrier Tag for Dogs (Misc.)
I bought the shootag at the urging of my husband and was not expecting it to work. OUr golden gets ill with chemical flea and tick meds and we have tried everything and nothing safe ever has worked. Within 2 days of putting the tags on her, we noticed more fleas which I think was the fleas jumping off the dog in their confusion from the magnets/tags. I kept her well brushed and vacuumed often and the trouble was shortlived. I can say that this is the only safe, chemical free product that has worked for our dog!

In our culture it may be challenging, but I try my very best to not allow toxins to enter into my dog's body via drugs, ointments, or chemicals in food. Leo is a holistic, healthy dog.
My dog Leo (Maltipoo - but a bigger one) and I like to go hiking. Last year he was getting ticks quite often from our trails. I know how toxic the flea and tick medication can be, so I searched for holistic options and found Shoo!Tags. He's been wearing them over a year now and hasn't seen one tick or flea since. We also had my parents' dog, Julius (Golden Retriever), try Shoo!Tag and he has been using them for a year as well and is completely tick/flea free. The most wonderful thing about Shoo!Tags is that it works WITHOUT any chemicals. It is completely safe. This is such a great solution! A single package comes with two tags, one for fleas and the other for ticks. The double package comes with two flea tags and two tick tags. You simply attach them to your dog's collar with the magnetic strip facing your dog. I layered Leo's by cutting a portion off of one of the tags so they don't completely cover each other (you may customize the fitting of the tag with scissors). Once the tag packaging is opened, the tags are fully activated within 24-48 hours. They are to be replaced every 120 days. My parents and I just order the double pack and split the cost for our two dogs. Leo, Julius, my parents and I are all very happy with Shoo!Tags. Our entire family recommends them! :)

I have had these on a large dog and small dog for 3 weeks now in addition to generic monthly flea and tick medication. My small dog had fleas on just the flea and tick med so I thought maybe I would try the Shoo tags. His fleas are definitely gone. The big dog spends more time outside though and we live in the country with a big tick problem. In the 3 weeks, he has worn it I have not noticed a drop in the number of ticks. So, I guess I am happy about the fleas being gone for sure but not sure how the tick part works. That was what I was really wanting to control too. Oh well, maybe it will take more time.

Use Shoo Tags with other natural flea controls,

After years of combating fleas on my dog, this spring we have finally been realatively flea free. The Shoo tags use a radio frequency and are great, but I think a multi-front, all natural approach is what has finally worked for us.
I don't like using any type of chemical flea controls on my dog - topical or ingested. I was looking at a flea control product at the pet store one day and later looked up one of the active ingredients on the internet. The chemical was listed as a neurotoxin. Just because these companies say a chemical is safe at small doses doesn't mean that it will be safe if it's used month after month for years on your dog. Plus I don't want to be exposed to these chemicals either when I pet my dog. I have tried various natural products over the years without much success. I purchased a set of Shoo Tags at a pet expo in the spring of 2009. Since the Los Angeles area is not prone to ticks, I left the tick tag in the package and only used the flea tag. I had it on her for a couple of months, but it didn't work. I contacted the company and returned the tags to them. (I wish I'd read the FAQ's on their website first before putting the tag on her since the information there is extremely helpful.) A couple of months later they sent me a replacement set of tags. I left the tags sealed in the package and I decided to try the tags on my dog again in March of 2010. This time I used both the flea and tick tags together. This seems to work better than the single flea tag alone. Since she is a small dog, I also cut the tags on the dotted line to make them shorter. This year, I also decided to take a multi-front approach to the flea problem and for the first time, my dog has been realtively flea free for the past several month. What a relief for the both of us! In addition to the Shoo tags, I purchased a large container of nematodes to apply to my yard and kept the yard moist for two weeks since the person who sold me the container of nematodes said that they travel best in moist soil (nematodes are natural preditor to flea larvae.) I also bathe my dog every two weeks and check her with a flea comb pretty much daily along with my usual vaccuming. I have put plastic carpet runners in a few key places she likes to lay in (like under the bed) where it is hard to vaccum. I then put a towel on that for her to lay on that I can pick up to wash periodically. For the past several months, I have seen only an occasional flea on her. While I have always done the vacuuming, bathing and flea combing, I believe the difference this time has been the reduction of the fleas in my yard through the application of the nematodes and the use of the Shoo Tags to keep any fleas off of her that might be in the carpeting in the house. ****** I highly recommend the company's website and their FAQ page on how to use the tags ([...]) and what things can nulify the radio signal that the tags give off. ****** I do think the Shoo Tags have been a big contributing factor in keeping my dog mostly flea free this spring and have order another set of tags since these have been on her for three months now.

The product didn't work for my two dogs. I still have a flea problem. I had the tags on them for two weeks and I was still pulling fleas off them and giving them flea baths.
I thought if I left them on, it just takes some time. After two weeks, I could tell it did nothing for my dogs.

I would not recommend the product. Doesn't seem to work, it is impossible to attach to the collar and have the tags lay closely to the pet as recommended with a round ring that lets them dangle in space. Don't buy save your momey.

My dog has been wearing Shoo!Tag for a month and has not gotten one tick. This is impressive because we live in the northeast in a wooded area with lots of ticks. I love not using chemicals on my pet!

I don't know if it doesn't work above the tags but both of my dogs get ticks on their heads. Especially the ears and eye area. Haven't really found any on the body. I am using the shootag on my Huskys and using natural spray on my Beagles. So far, the spray works best!

Working for TWO Dogs - NOT ONE TICK since,

I bought these at the suggestion of my holistic vet for use on my two dogs. One dog is white, so it was always easy to see the ticks crawl on his head and I could get them before they attached, but the other dog is black, so the ticks weren't easily visible. I have used the tick tags on the two dogs for almost three mths now and have not seen one tick on either of them. The dogs travel in some heavily tick invested areas, so this is unusual. The downside, and this is a big one, is the size and shape of tag do not allow for it to be worn flush to the skin as recommended, unless you sew the tag into the collar, which I did. This is a pain to do and requires another hole be punched (with a hole-puncher) and then cut to fit against the collar. Because of this, I didn't use the flea tag also, just the tick tag. For those that didn't think the tags worked, perhaps the tags aren't close enough to the body. If there was a better way to attach these, they would get another star - but so far so good!

Do not waste your money.,

I purchased the flea and tick shoo bug cards on 11/10. They say they are to work for 4 months. Within less than 1/2 a month of not using Frontline my dog was ate up with fleas. She did not like having the frontline put on her so I thought this is a great solution to my problem, I just hope they work. Well they don't, do not wast your money.
