Shoot Great Video with your Canon DSLR Camera (DVD)

For many years I've been using Photoshop to process still images, and assumed that in processing video I would use the same tweaks for white balance, exposure, etc.

Video coming from the Canon dslrs is quite compressed, so every editing step we take in post-processing degrades the output. I learned how to get better results by optimizing my choice of subject locale and placement, use of best camera settings, and use of accessories such as tripods and microphones geared for video. Studio lighting is discussed as well.

I own another Blue Crane video, for my 580ex and 430ex Canon Speedlights, and found that one equally helpful.

this was very imformative. it was mostly broad as opposed to deep treatment of the subject, but that is the best starting point I think for learning dslr video. i learned enough to know what topics relate to my situation/needs and which do not, and what topics i need to go in for a deeper dive on via youtube, etc. It also got me past worrying about "what don't I know that if I only knew before I shot some video my videos would have been so much better." I would recommend this.

The Canon 60D is a great camera! Not only does it help you take great pictures, you can shoot some amazing video. With this DVD I was able to learn how to use this camera to do just that. This DVD covered many topics in an easy to understand manner. I found the tips to be very useful and interesting. This DVD spelled out aspects of using the camera to shoot videos that are not covered in the manual. After watching the DVD I tried a few of the suggestions and was very pleased with the results. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who has purchased the Canon 60D and is looking to better understand it and use it to shoot great videos.
