5.0 out of 5 stars the best punk ep in years
pinhead gunpowder is back and they are better than ever. Mix mr.cometbus' wonderful lyrics with bjs snot-vocals and you got 12 minutes of excellence, punk style.

3.0 out of 5 stars 15 minutes
I bought this cd based on other people reviews. It's good, don't get my wrong, but come one: 7 songs, only one is longer 2 minutes, $10. That's almost one dollar a minute. I feel kinda ripped off here and it makes it hard to appreciate this way too short album (I don't see "EP" anywhere). Then people complain about kids downloading songs illegally...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pinhead Gunpowder=great music all the way, June 20, 1999
This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
I have listened to this CD over and over and i cant get enough of it and it hasn't lost its touch over the six weeks i have had it. I know Aaron's last name (Combetus) but i dont know Jason's or Bill's. It is a little short (11 minutes 53 seconds) but it still is quality

5.0 out of 5 stars soso good, July 21, 2005
This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
I absolutely love this album. Bilie joe's voice combined with aaron cometbus's make such an interesting record. It is like old green day but better. Interesting songs, if brief but taht just makes u love them more. If u did like green day, or any east bay punk- op ivy, rancid, anything like them u will seriously love this. i own everything green dayhave ever done and also everything pinhead gunpowder have ever done. This or jump salty( a comp of EP's) are 2 amazing records taht didnt leave my stereo for about a year.
Ive grown out of green day but i have grown into phg if u see where im going and with their new success and under 13 following now is definatley the time to stock up on some PHG and rememer why you like BJA and that he is still has amazing vocal/musical talent- despite what green day's image represents now.
This album is just fantastic and the starting lyrics 'election night that wonderful crowd'- is really memorable and the beggining of a great song. they rock. really. get all the other albums to- bearing in mind that carry the banner is the only mildly dissapointing one that i would have to lower to 4 stars instead of 5. Let me know if I have convinced any of you to buy this record! You wont be disappointed ....* god i really do sound like a mad fan....i'm not even paid by adeline for all this brown nosing!*

This is not close to being their finest work but it is still another great release. This is the album Billie joe aka Wilhelm Fink had the most to do with. He wrote a song for it and sang almost every song. Cabot girl is probably one of the best songs in punk history.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD From A Great Band, January 25, 2003
This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
When I first heard this band I thought it was to good to be true. I was really pi$$ed off because Green Day aren't punk anymore, and their old stuff is so great. Then I heard this. They sound just like old and better Green Day! They even have Billie Joe in the band! But anyway....This Cd is 11 Min. of great punk rock. With amazing songs like "Achin To Be", "Kathleen", and "Asheville", this can easily be called Pinhead Gunpowder's best CD. If your not sure about this band, listen to "Big Yellow Taxi". That will definatly convince you to listen to these guys. So if your a fan of old Green Day, or you like punk, go buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shoot The Moon, June 19, 2002
This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
I have to be honest-I did not expect a lot out of an eleven minute E.P. from a comparitavely unheared of side project, considering lead singer and rhythem guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong is the frontman for the punk revival, and leader of northern Californian born Green Day. But as soon as my stereo blasted out the first notes from the first song I was hooked. And the addictiveness didn't stop there. "My Boot In Your Face Is What Keeps Me Alive" and "Kathleen" have a true softcore, northern california sound to them, where as "Asheville" is much more upbeat and harder. The different rhyme schemes and originality to this E.P./C.D. makes it one of my favorites, and one that I most often recomend. Tell me what you think-echayford@aol.com

3.0 out of 5 stars Rock., May 27, 2002

This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
More commonly known as "that guy from Green Day's *other* band," Pinhead Gunpowder has definitely gotten more potent with age. Now, Billie Joe shares vocal duties with guitarist Jason over the 7 song, 10 minute power-chord extravaganza. From the opening lines of "Cabot Gal" to the sardonic ending lyrics of "Kathleen" ("And we could have some kids/if we're lucky they'll be gay," "If I'd only been a girl instead of a guy"), this CD kicks you into high gear and gets you so worn down when the last song ends that you feel like you've been listening to it for hours straight. If you're a fan of their earlier stuff (especially the AWESOME "Carry The Banner" EP on Lookout!) or if you just wanna hear Billie Joe outside of Green Day, give Pinhead Gunpowder a listen, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great man, December 4, 2001

This review is from: Shoot the Moon (Audio CD)
This cd is great for anyone who likes old school green day. (...) This combines billie joe's old attitude towards music with the other members own interpretations to bring a great album. IF the cd wasnt so short, it would be incredible. Anyone who likes punk should get this. Peace.
