Fictional Book, Fictional Author, February 17, 2012
This review is from: Shooter Down! - The Dramatic, Untold Story of the Police Response to the Virginia Tech Massacre (Paperback)
The author is a known fraud who's reputation as a terrorism "expert" is built on lies and false credentials. He's claimed to be ex-Special Forces but only spent 60 days in the Army before being shown the door. If you want to read a book on terrorism, then buy one written by someone with actual military or LE experience who is who he claims to be. Great Book! Must Read!, March 30, 2011
This review is from: Shooter Down! - The Dramatic, Untold Story of the Police Response to the Virginia Tech Massacre (Paperback)
This book is a great read. John Giduck gives the details and all the information the media did not provide. This book goes in to the life of Cho, his family and who he was. This book also depicts the police officers, SWAT, and trained forces action plan. What should of happened, and what actually did happen from a police officer's perspective.

Shooter Down is tops!, May 5, 2011
This review is from: Shooter Down! - The Dramatic, Untold Story of the Police Response to the Virginia Tech Massacre (Paperback)
"Shooter Down!" is the latest real-life book by noted author John Giduck who
previously gave us "Terror at Beslan". This account is a fact-laden review
of what really happened at Virginia Tech when a crazed gunman methodically
murdered 32 students and faculty members. Moreover, Giduck takes us inside
the mind of the killer, detailing his personal life and homicidal thoughts
in riveting detail.
This is the textbook for response-to-active-shooter incidents. We in law
enforcement would have been well-served to have had this level of training
and inter-agency compatibility - as exhibited by the Virginia Tech and
Blacksburg SWAT teams - in previous situations. Giduck defines the intense
cooperative effort that these two tactical units made in limiting the
carnage and he succinctly refutes the media reports of alleged ineptitude.
In "Shooter Down!" you will respond with these SWAT operators as they
professsionally and rapidly end the bloodbath that evolved on the Virginia
campus. Giduck compares and contrasts this rampage with those of Columbine
High School, Platte Canyon (CO) High School, and the Nickel Mines (PA) Amish
school. He gives police and sheriff's officers nationwide an instructional
manual on how to effectively manage such criminal episodes.
Having been a tactical operator for 25 years and having been within
Columbine HS on that fateful day, I can unequivocally say that this book is a
"must-read" for law enforcement management and line-level cops alike. It will
become the benchmark text by which all other tactical response reviews are measured.
