Gel Filled Recoil Pads

This recoil pad makes my Mosin Nagant a little more pleasant to shoot, not only dampening recoil, but adding a little bit of length to the stock. I highly recommend it for light range use, however, the pad is beginning to pull apart at the seam, so I wouldn't suggest this for any kind of heavy use.

I bought one of these for my 20 gauge Franchi 48-AL. For those who don't know, the 48-AL is the lightest semi-auto 20-gauge shotgun ever produced and it kicks like a mule. Before purchasing this recoil pad, a bruised shoulder was a given after only a few shots. I'm happy to report that this pad has successfully tamed the beast, even with the heavier loads I use for pheasant. I've only had it on for a few months, so I've yet to determine how well the neoprene-type material will hold up over time, but so far no problems. The spacer inserts included are a nice bonus and allow the shooter to adjust the length of pull slightly. It's a pretty ugly addition to my gun, unfortunately, but it works well and the price is right.

I liked this product so much that I ordered two more. It's really tamed my Mosin Nagants. I was going to try this on my 12 ga. Benelli Nova, but the pad wasn't quite large enough and I ended up with a limbsaver on that.

I also purchased the rubber recoil pad seen here: M44 Mosin Nagant Rubber Recoil Butt Pad and the gel pad is far more effective at reducing felt recoil. However, on a 91/59 the combination of the rubber recoil pad and the gel recoil pad is excellent.

I bought this for my Mosin Nagant M91-30. I had already put the hard rubber pad on that replaces the metal piece on the end of the stock, but I still felt like the gun kicked like a mule. I put this gel pad over the rubber pad and it made all the difference in the world. I used it sighting in a scope and after twenty rounds or so, my shoulder didn't even notice.

It does work. But it does slide around a bit, depending size of the butt stock. To be expected I think though. But, for the price it functions exactly as would be expected with no mods needs for your rifle/shotgun. Looks clean, and does save the shoulder a bit on the older surplus rifles...

In My Humble Opinion...

I bought this pad to help me take the beast that is my rifle. I have a 91/30 Mosin Nagant with a steel buttplate so this pad really helps.

I used this pad with my Ruger and Win 101. Both have manual triggers. This pad has helped reduced the recoil a lot. I really like it.

I bought this pad for a mosin nagant with an aftermarket stock. The rifle kicks like an angry bull when fired, and routinely leaves me with a bruised shoulder after a day at the range. This pad was significantly cheaper than its competition, so I wasn't expecting much. I was VERY pleasantly suprised with this product. It fit my stock great, and practically eliminated the recoil of my mosin. No shoulder pain, no bruises, maximum fun! I highly recommend this product.

This pad is great for lessening the recoil from your 12 gauge shotgun. It's very easy to use & also looks great on your weapon.

These are great little buttstock pads, in that they actually cushion your shoulder instead of merely increasing the length of pull. However, for smaller/thinner stocks, the fit will be a bit loose, as it was on my rifle.
