4.0 out of 5 stars I'm impressed...
Shoottokill, written and produced by Ak1200 is definitely a nice addition to my Dance & DJ collection. This CD is full of great beats, high energy and wonderful vocals. Ak1200 offers a nice blend of D&B and Hip/Hop that will be sure to energize just about anyone. Ak1200 has proven himself to be a great artist as well as a great producer.

This is definitely worth...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but NOT what I expected....
This was my first CD from AK1200. There are a number of styles found in here and I found it to be a detriment to the overall composition. It's easy to see that AK1200 was influenced by Omni Trio. (Who isn't?) However, these tunes sound too much like Omni Trio. It's a good break from Dieselboy at times but I still like the hard stuff.

A full album of tracks both written and produced by AK1200 himself... is there even the possibility of it getting less than a 5?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great drum n bass album that's not just for dnb fans., September 25, 2002

Wow. A drum n bass album that works. Not too may have achieved that, but this one does. This record covers the whole history of drum n bass, with great guest vocals, and very solid production. Good for the club, car, and house, there's something for everyone here- hip hop influenced tracks, soulful vocal tracks, chill tracks, dark and heavy tracks. AK's remix of "Drowning" always blows up the club, and this album continues his sold production work. AK is not only a great DJ who makes wicked mix CDs, but a great producer/artist as well. Cop this album by any means necessary!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU IT'S AK1200!!, May 21, 2004
This review is from: Shoottokill (Audio CD)
omg! it's AK1200 how can you say it's a disgrace to Drum and base? how can you?? it's not that much different then what they have been doing. same fast style playing that can raise your spirits. granted yeah some of their old stuff is better and will always remain thee best, but the CD is not a disgrace. that's just wrong. some songs aren't up to par but the whole CD isn't bad. i enjoy it very much so, it's why i gave it a 5 i bought it like 2 years ago and i still love it. ok the phife dawg wasn't the best idea but hell not everything has to be perfect and it makes an excellent party song. (good memories good memories) Dude i'm not raggin on you, cause we all are entitled. I'm just stating i think your a little too harsh with the disgrace comment. it's AK1200 dude show a little more respect then that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impress your friends!!!, October 25, 2002

More often then not, when a dj tries his/her hand at producing a whole cd of their own tracks, it ends up as a mangled mess. So now we have ak1200, part of the planet of the drums boys, and what we have is actually a solid selection of well crafted tracks.
Instead of the "beat you over the head" repetative tech step we're all getting tired of he's offered up some of the better drum and base coming out right now.
This cd sounds nothing like his other stuff, and that's the point. If you like drum and base for what it really is, instead of impressing your friends (you know who you are) then this cd will not fail to please.

4.0 out of 5 stars the final frontier for the awe-inspiring dj, February 22, 2004

This review is from: Shoottokill (Audio CD)
its nice to see an american d & b icon produce something that actually sounds good. i don't care much for spinning records but i do mess around with sequencing my own beats on my computer. so its no wonder that i would give more props to a producer than a dj as i realize the despcrepency in actual talent between the 2.
ak is reknowned for his skillz on the dex but 9 times out of 10 when you go to see ak, hes completely wasted and screwing around making mediocre mixes with a bunch of turntable trix thrown in there to keep his fanbase happy. but when hes on point, it shows.. big time. now comes the time in his career in which he must seperate himself from so many others and show that he can actually produce quality sounds for the general masses. all i can say is that i'm not dissapointed. thanx ak.. for 6 years of d & b mayhem that i will never forget in the twenty-somethin times that i've seen you spin. thanx for holdin down ATL and making nightlife here so enjoyable at 4 in the morning. thanx for throwing in a breaks and hip-hop trak on your production album for all the oldskool fools that like to hear the tempo slowed down for the sake of nastalgia.... and thanx again for producing something worthwhile to prove to your critics (that would include me) that you are still the best of the best after all these years.
