Total waste of time and money!,
This review is from: Shop Fox D2058 Adjustable Extra Heavy-duty Mobile Base (Tools & Home Improvement)
At near, but under rated capacity, the base sagged so much that the stoppers engaged the floor. I removed the stoppers, but it was still near impossible to move around, due to the distorted framework, squashed wheels, and the bearings/castors not being up to the task. The bolts supplied were of the poorest quality; they stripped with little provocation. My HTC bases always worked flawlessly , I regret that I tried these Shop Foxes at all. Grizzly advertizes them as Wood Magazine's "Editor's Choice" so I gave them a try... BIG MISTAKE. Grizzly (and Wood Magazine) have their head in the sand on this product. When I asked to send them back, Grizzly wanted me to pay for shipping and restock. I resolved the problem myself by welding the frame together and getting harder stronger wheels at Tractor Supply. Wake-up Grizzly! 0 stars on this product. This product may perform at a fraction, say one half, of its rated capacity, but I simply wouldn't trust it, not even to be level! Save yourself a lot of heartache and go with HTC from the start... HTCs are worth every penny and more that you pay for them. Live and learn.... I hope this helps someone.

Decent mobile base with few wrinkles to iron out,

I purchased this mobile base along with the longer, extension bars ($29) for my 700-pound jointer/planer combo machine. Since this is my first mobile base of this type, I cannot compare this to other brands like HTC. My initial inspection of the parts was that this was a heavy-duty unit capable of handling heavy machines. Instruction book was very well written with decent number of photos. It took me about two hours to assemble and place the mobile base under the jointer/planer. Majority of the time was spent trying to elevate the heavy machine. This was a very difficult task. Shop Fox recommends the user assemble the mobile base before putting it under the equipment. Some of the negative points were: (1) There were too many hardware pieces like bolts, nuts and washers for assembly. Putting them on wasn't difficult, but rather tedious. (2) Bolts were made of cheap metal. I stripped the thread on two of the bolts and couldn't get them out of the attachment bars. Just remember not to over-tighten them. (3) Since I purchased the longer, extension bars, I'm stuck with two shorter ones that came with the unit. They're nice, but have no use for them. (4) Mobile base doesn't roll as effortlessly as I had imagined. The weight of the unit could be a factor. The casters come as two stationary and two swivel. Locking the casters require turning two plastic knobs. Overall it's not a bad unit, but I might look into HTC for my other machines.

Sorry Grizzly, this is simply not a good effort on your part! The metal walls are incredibly thin for something supposed to be heavy duty. I expected at least 1/4" but instead it is less than 1/8" thick. The welds are okay but the overall design leaves much to be desired. The casters are sure to be troublesome as they do not have ball-bearings in the wheel hubs but bushings instead - that will make moving anything heavy a greater chore. The extension tubes do not mate with the corner brackets very snuggly and have lots of slop in them. And the real kicker - if this is the model that is capable of carrying 1200# then what the heck is the G7314 made out of? I think the Delta Universal Mobile Base has fittings every bit as strong as what is included here and maybe even more so. And Delta rates this base at only 300# capacity! Very disappointed and highly recommend you think twice before making a purchase.
