Biggest suck for the buck,
By
This review is from: Shop-Vac 9254310 18-Gallon 6.5-Peak HP Right Stuff Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tools & Home Improvement)
6.25 horse power from a 9.5 amp motor? They must be pretty small horses! Even so this is quite simply the most powerful wet dry vac I've ever used. It makes dust collection on portable power tools a breeze. A dedicated tool vac with a current sensing switch is more convenient.( Fein , Porter Cable , Festo , etc.) But this is a lot cheaper and moves more air. It's also very quiet compared to other vacs supposedly rated in the 5 or more horsepower range. You get Two sets of tools with it. One for the large hose and one for the small hose. I think I'd rather have one hose of better quality and longer length though. The threaded hose attachment is a giant improvement. How many times have you tried to move your shop vac by the hose only to find it loose in your hand ? No more. The filter that comes with it is also a vast improvement. It is a pleated canister that is washable when it finally gets clogged up. That means no more changing filters when going from dry to wet pick up. I washed mine the other day and set it in the sun to dry. It got ran over by a truck so it is no more. It was my truck and I was driving. I got a clean stream filter instead of the original. It seems to get fine dust a little better. For drywall dust I really recommend the drywall dust bag filters. They go a long time before clogging up. Much longer than the canister filters. For general grub work and heavy clean up I really like this vac. When I burn it up in a couple of years I'll probably get another one . By then they'll probably be rated at 11 amps and fifty horse power.

The Essential Handy Little Powerhouse Of A Machine!,
By Barron Laycock "Labradorman" (Temple, New Hampshire United States) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Shop-Vac 9254310 18-Gallon 6.5-Peak HP Right Stuff Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tools & Home Improvement)
Anyone who lives in a rural area with spring run off and a high water table can find a thousand uses for one of these. With five very active Labrador Retrievers, my basement floor can get grubby and messy in a hurry, especially when I use it as the main entrance for them during bad weather. This unit will pick up snow, slush, mud, and all the other sorts of organic and inorganic matter with amazing speed, and it is easily and quickly drained and cleaned, as well. This is a powerful machine, yet is fairly quiet in operation. It is sturdy, quite mobile, and packs away in the corner of the basement unobtrusively after using it on the area like the wet and grubby area around the wood stack after bringing more wood in from outside. I've had mine for a couple of seasons now, and it still operates just as if it were new. It is effective, efficient, and well priced. In my opinion, it is a very good buy for the money. Enjoy!

Shop Vac Dependability and Reliability...,
By Texas Joe "tejasjoe" (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shop-Vac 9254310 18-Gallon 6.5-Peak HP Right Stuff Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tools & Home Improvement)
I did side by side tests of both this unit and the 5.0 HP unit.I didn't see a noticeable difference. Both performedexceptionally.... The Shop Vac power, reliability and relatively quiet motor for a wet dry vacuum is the choice for those who purchase a tool once, expecting it to last. You can't go wrong with either of the models!
