"Sanctuary Island is a novel to curl up with and enjoy by a crackling fire or on a sunny beach. It’s a beautifully told story of hope and forgiveness, celebrating the healing power of love. Lily Everett writes with warmth, wisdom and deep insight. The island, with its wild horses and natural beauty, is a place of dreams, and the story will live in your heart long after the book is closed." –Susan Wiggs, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Willow Lake series

The nostalgic, almost introspective story of a young woman, the mother who neglected her, and the wounded man who will walk the road to a happy ending with her. The story is the perfect blend of Romance and Woman’s fiction that will equally satisfy readers of both genres as well as those who meet in the middle.” – Heroes and Heartbreakers

About the Author

Lily Everett grew up in a small town in Virginia reading Misty of Chincoteague and Black Beauty, taking riding lessons, and longing for a horse of her own. Sadly, her parents gave her a college education instead—but she never forgot what the world looked like from the back of a horse. She currently lives in Austin, Texas, where she writes full-time.

More About the Author

Lily Everett grew up in a small town in central Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Although she's lived many other places since, from college in Philadelphia to her first job in New York City and her current home in Austin, Texas, she never forgot the beauty and warmth of her little hometown. She is thrilled to be writing the Sanctuary Island series full time because it allows her to combine her longstanding love of romance with the memories of her childhood home.

I have read several of Everett's novellas that were also set on the island and a few of the locations were familiar to me because of that.

After reading Shoreline Drive I will buy any book that Lily Everett publishes. Her writing style is fantastic, her characters are well developed, and the storyline flows seamlessly. The story contains Ben, very alpha male, and Merry, a single mom that wants for her child what she never had. I think I fell in love with Ben from the very first chapter. He is gruff and says what he thinks, but when you read from his point of view, you just melt. He has a hard exterior and a very soft, romantic heart. Merry is tough, sensible, and perfect for Ben. Their story is realistic, not insta-love, and not always easy. The angst is light, but the love is real. A very sweet romance where the steamy scenes start, but are finished behind closed doors. Grab this book, find a comfortable spot, and enjoy the world of Shoreline Drive!

Take one curmudgeonly veterinarian, one estranged unwed mother trying to mend her ways and a town who accepts everyone. Well almost everyone as you will see when you read this story. Ben is an introvert whose mission is to care for all pets, especially rescue animals. Merry and her sister were messed up when Mom left the family due to alcohol. Merry is back with a baby trying to mend broken fences. Ben is called in to deliver Merry's baby and has his past history come back to him. Add in defiant teens, Ben's rich parents, a rescue stallion and Merry's ex lover and you have an awesome book. I love this series and Lily's real people characters. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Such an amazingly good read. Back to Sanctuary Island and the Preston sisters. Can grouchy vet Ben Fairfax win Merry Preston's heart? In this wonderful tale we get to know the characters and the Islanders in a heartwarming and real way. You definitely don't want to miss out ton this book. I recommend this for everyone!

I like to read continuing stories. This one had many interesting characters, horses and of course an island. Can't wait for another follow-up story, already read two.

Shoreline Drive is the kind of novel that keeps you engaged from start to finish. When you first meet the characters, you know that they are warm and ready to embrace the reader and invite you into their lives.

From the beginning I was whisked away by this author's writing style. Her words flow easily into the mind and allow you to fall into the story without hangups or missteps. I liked the descriptions she used of the island and of the horses, as well as the detail she put into the creation of her characters. The setting was beautiful and at certain points in the novel, I felt like I was right there with the characters.

This was my first book by Lily Everett, but I would be happy to return to this series and learn more about the lives of the characters. It was somewhat reminiscent to me of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series in the regard that the families are all interconnected and one event creates another within the small town atmosphere.

I would have to say that Ben was my favourite character out of them all.He is the perfect lead for a contemporary romance, strong when he needs to be, silent and observant and the kind of man that you want to capture the heart of the female lead. I didn't love Sam, but perhaps that will change in future books.

Overall this was a very pleasant read and one I am happy that I didn't miss.

Oh, I liked this one. A gruff loner veterinarian with a crush on a sunny younger woman with a baby. He can't emotionally risk so he proposes a marriage of convenience. Fun!

I haven't read the rest of the books in this series but I plan to do so. I didn't need to have read them to enjoy this one.

The heat level is very low and behind closed doors but you still feel the heat. The small town, other characters and the hero and heroine come together to make this a moving romance with very human lovers.

There is some high drama around his parents that I felt was a bit over the top and took from the realism of the story of single motherhood and the hero's grief but overall I excited to have discovered this writer.

It was just what I wanted in a contemporary marriage of convenience romance!

Loved this book from the beginning. I just wished I had read the first one in the series before reading this one but a book that is one you can read by itself without having read the first one.

Ben is a veterinarian who is called to deliver Merry baby because of the bad weather a regular doctor cannot get there and she does not have time to get to a hospital. After he delivers her baby he decides he wants them to be his finally someday.

A few months later he asked her to marry, but they decides it will be a marriage convenience. But ends up being more.

The book gets really exciting at the end when her baby father comes back, really feel bad for Ben since he loves them so much.

This is a very good book and definitely recommend it. This was my first book by Lily Everett and will read more by her.

Once I learned that Louisa Edwards was writing in a new sub-genre as Lily Everett, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. What Edwards did for steamy-foodie romance, Everett is doing for emotional, heart-tugging romance. This is the second book in the new Sanctuary Island series and again, the story involves one of the Preston sisters, this time, Merry.

This book was charming and heart-breaking and displayed the incredible power of love, forgiveness and healing. I absolutely fell in love with the curt and gruff 'Doc' Ben, the island vet and all-around cranky and distant man. The character was deeply developed in a way that helped you to see and understand why Ben portrayed an image of himself that was so disconnected from his true feelings. Merry was the light that shone down on Ben and parted the clouds of his misery and self-inflicted isolation. It was beautiful to watch these two help each other to become the individuals they were meant to be. That deep, emotional connection is often missing in your standard romance and I, for one, truly enjoyed being on that journey with them.

I didn't enjoy the side-story with Taylor; however, I see that it was necessary to fully involve the whole family in the story. This story was well-written and well developed. I enjoyed the intimacy that the author created with her characters and I look forward to where she takes this series next.
