Quite expensive for black and white book that you could have produced yourself from the supplied CD. This also would have allowed you to print selected pages for reference. Format could be made more accessable and the poor web links need more info(animations of different settings seems a waste of web space). This is a better choice for the beginner Canon EOS 40D Guide to Digital Photography

I like the course, very informative. I wish the spiral binder came in color but the PDF is in color. It has given me a lot of insight into the new Canon 40D and that is worth it. I have had a 20D for years but this camera is so much better I felt I needed a course to make sure I could use all the features. So far the book is giving me a lot of hints and information I did not get out of the manual.

This is an excellent book on the Canon 40D and no only explains the operation of the camera but also provides an excellent source of information on photography in general.

If this book was published on slick paper and in color with first rate pictures and diagrams it would be 5 stars for sure.

Having recently upgraded from the Digital Rebel to the 40D and having never taken a photography course, I found the book very useful. The book provides lessons in photography within the context of using the 40D. In addition to providing the HOW; the book also provides the WHY. Yes, it could have been published in color but the book comes with a CD that provides color illustrations.

Overall a very good buy!

Very informative, easy to understand with a lot of information about my camera. Good enough that I ordered another Short Course book about my Canon G 10 camera. It would be nice if the book was in color but this is taken care of with the DVD that comes with the book.
