Book Description

June 2003
This book/eBook package is your guide to getting more interesting and creative photos with your Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera. If you want to learn more about the concepts of photography, this book/ebook is for you. It discusses every camera setting in a clear, well-illustrated style, but it also does much more. You'll see why and when you use specific settings, not just how to set them. You’ll find that this guide helps you quickly master your camera so you’ll be getting the kinds of photos you hope for. The book is printed in black & white and has a well-liked spiral binding that lets the book lie flat or be folded back. The accompanying eBook on a CD disc is a full-color version of the same book in Adobe's popular PDF format. It can be read on a PC or Mac using the included Acrobat reader or any current Web browser. The CD also includes trial versions of a number of the author's favorite programs.

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of time and money!, July 19, 2004

This review is from: A Short Course in Canon PowerShot G5 Photography book/ebook (Spiral-bound)
I bought this book thinking I would get some new and exciting information about the Powershot G5. Some tips and tricks on getting better photographs USING the G5 features. Instead, this book is just a combination of the EXACT same content from the Users Manual and any basic book on photography. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. Nothing interesting.

It was also a big let down when I saw it. It's actually a bunch of black and white photocopies (Xerox) bound together in a spiral. Like a school report from the early 90's. It shouldn't cost more that five dollars.

I believe the auther and publishers just put it together just to make some easy money. And I fell for it. I should've known when it had no reviews.

After this, I will NEVER buy another book from them and I strongly suggest you see it before you buy it. No wonder you can't see the inside in amazon!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the Book You Need to Get Started, February 4, 2005

This review is from: A Short Course in Canon PowerShot G5 Photography book/ebook (Spiral-bound)
The instruction manuals that come with the Canon Powershot G5 and G6 are impossible to decipher. (One could be stuck in Automatic forever)! But Dennis Curtin comes to the rescue with a book that includes clear, simple explanations and illustrations that make it easy to understand all of the functions that can seem so confusing to the new digital camera user. He's done a fine job. A life saver. Highly recommended.
