I'm an Emcee and Camp Lo fan; there's very few albums I buy and Camp Lo happens to be one. I tried to get there new album "Lets do it again" via my "connections" and I accidently got some Japanes realease only tracks. Let me tell you. These cats havent changed a bit. It's a love hate relationship with Loa because of there riddle style (which they bring to this album) but if you rhyme you appreciate there technical prowess; and regular listners will still be intoxicated by there style. Overall it's like this album contains lost tracks from Uptown Sat Night because all the flavor is there and the beats are a straight adrenaline rush, and some of the tightest Ive heard in a long time no joke! If you can get it, do so you wont' be dissapointed.

Why these tracks took so long to get back to North America from Japan is beyond me. But a few years after its release, the Short Eyes EP has surfaced and Camp Lo fiends are trading it for their momma's sofa. The title is taking from the play by Miguel Pinero, turned into a movie with a Curtis Mayfield soundtrack. Mayfield's title song talks about an older man taking advantage of a much younger girl but, apparantely, Camp Lo has a different interpretation. This ep is a compiliation of some of Sonny Cheeba's and Geechi Suede's flampiest, jiggy tracks where the theme is being flashy, drownin in the drizzy and more good times uptown...Tokyo?
The crooks take us to bootcamp with a banger, and babypa of 2001's college radio hit "Cookers", called "Army". Then some tripped out guitars bounce between the speakers till they get pinned down by a nice hook on "Sunkiss". "Scarves" rocks some caribean flavour, but the killah track has got to be "Baby Mother" with its heavy bass beat and back-and-forth rhymes between the crooks. Cheeba must be grinnin the whole time he spits: "Call me Mr. Looks so Good, cause the kid is sorta jiggy/ Mr. Cry so Good, cause the comb is sorta peachy/ Mr. Hurts so Good cause these chicks love to lick me/ Cause I'm the cat who put the 'sex' in the sex machine". Suede's brother Jungle Brown aka Handsome shows up to make "no excuses for these wet puppies" on an ill spittin beat, "Blind Photograpy". The only flat spot is the boring hook on the lead off song, "Cybersex", which is unusual for Camp Lo to start weak on an album considering UTSN (1997) grabbed us with "Krystal Karrington" and Let's Do it Again (2002) "Gotcha" right away.
Ya, cause of the price tag, this album is for the Camp Lo junkies. But, it you ARE a junkie hit this, because you're missing some hot flampy tracks that show what was happening with these caddy's from 1997-2002 in their 5 year absence.
