This review is from: 50 Best Short Hikes in California's Central Coast (Paperback)
As an occasional hiker not familiar with the area this book allowed me to plan a hiking/camping trip to the Morro Bay area. The 50 hikes are in: Channel Islands National Park, Los Padres National Forest, Montana de Oro, Morro Bay, Nipomo Dunes and Santa Monica Mountains National Rec Area. Includes a child rating to help you include kids on the hikes without overwhelming them. Includes starting and ending elevations, geological and human history, some information about flora and fauna, photos and a few maps.

Central Coast?,

This review is from: 50 Best Short Hikes in California's Central Coast (Paperback)
I was looking for a book on hiking trails on the Central Coast and thought this would be the perfect book. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It didn't include anything on Big Sur or the Monterey/Santa Cruz area. It focused primarily on San Luis Obispo County which I don't really consider the central coast. I've returned this book and am looking for one that covers the areas that I'm interested in.
