5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Pearson fan, September 23, 2007

I usually hold that the worst reader of an author's work is the author, himself. This holds true somewhat in this case, but it is still a joy to hear some of those wonderful Southern sentences in Pearson's own voice. It is also nice "visiting" Neely with him. A great video for a rainy day laugh or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud funny story from the eyes of a child!, April 4, 2000
By A Customer
This is my favorite book of all time and I've just re-ordered it because the two copies I've owned have been passed on and on. TR Pearson tells the adult stories of this small town poignantly and hysterically through the eyes of a perceptive young boy. I highly recommend this light escape, but don't read it in public as you have a tendancy to giggle out loud. It's embarrassing.
