These cables are a godsend. If you are making rovers and other small bots, you've noticed that the overall wonderfulness of your design is ruined once you've cabled it. There is only one 8" cable so you are forced to use 15" when it is overkill, and the cables are black, wide and stiff so its hard or impossible to place them neatly: what you usuall get is a mass of tangled cables sticking out everywhere. The Short Length Flex-Cables solve this problem: there are 2 8: cables and 2 4" cables. The 4" cables are handy when your output and input ports are really close together, and it's great to have more 8" cables. The cables are also a light grey and a little bit thinner so they are unobstrusive. They are not stiff and they are pretty flexible. Buy these. You bots will look way way cooler. (I just did a bot that needed a cable longer than 8" so was forced to use a standard 15" one. I am going to buy a set of Flex-Cables in the standard lengths so I never again have to use the stiff, black, fat ones. Also I bought 2 sets of the short ones which is perfect for my designs.)

These cables are awesome, and they are much nicer than official lego cables. BUT. They are not officially legal for First Lego League competitions. You might get by at the local level because the officials won't notice or won't care. But our team went to the world competition last year and nearly got disqualified for using these cables. As awkward as the official cables are, if you are competing in the FLL challenges, play it safe and use them.

These wires are absolutely necessary for NXT robot construction!

The NXT comes with connecting wires in a variety of lengths, but the wires are bulky and inflexible. I usually had to struggle to keep the regular wires from getting tangled with the robot or with each other.

The Flexi-cables solve this problem. They're lightweight, flexible, and easy to handle. I usually fold them over into the right length and then clamp the folds with a paper clip or rubber band. The robot is less bulky and much nicer looking.

This is one of the best accessories you can buy for an NXT system.

Purchased for my son, whose has really liked them. He says it makes his robots more realistic not having the longer cords poking out all over his creation. Shipped quickly too.
