Short Line Doodlebug,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Short Line Doodlebug: Galloping Geese and Other Railcritters (Interurbans Special) (Hardcover)
An excellent work on America's smaller rail motor cars by the doyen of the subject Edmund Keilty. This book is one of a trilogy which records in depth the rail motor's passage in history. The other two books in the trilogy are 'Inter-urbans without Wires' and 'Doodlebug Country'. Edmund Keilty also co-authored 'RDC - the Budd Rail Diesel Car' with Donald Duke to complete the history of rail motors. All are well written, meticulously researched and well supplied with relevant maps. Produced between the late 70s and early 90s to the best publication methods of that time.

unique motor railcars of the 20's-30's,
This review is from: The Short Line Doodlebug: Galloping Geese and Other Railcritters (Interurbans Special) (Hardcover)
This is an excellent reference book, covering the states in alphabetical order, of the different rail cars built to service small lines across the us. A brief description and photos for documentation. Many photos of so many odd and strange and sometimes one off rail cars.
