Book Description

Short Story Press Presents Front Page Kiss by Eve Gaal

Viola Timmons is mesmerized by the large, red-haired city editor who always calls her by her last name. He’s so absorbed in his work he has no time to notice her at all. When a lie slips from her mouth she realizes that perhaps she’s desperate and obviously in love. She forms a plan and courageously insists that he take her to the mayor’s luncheon where she blatantly reveals her feelings. Meanwhile, her amateur photographer friend is supposed to help out and take a photo of the mayor, but the deadline is nearing and there won’t be time to check for mistakes. Hopefully her friend Laura will snap the perfect shot and she won’t be an amateur for long. More importantly, if Viola can get the city editor to use her first name, then she’ll know he likes her too. Find out if the lies catch up to Viola after deadline and if a kiss makes all the difference.

4.0 out of 5 stars A front page short story February 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Front Page Kiss is a very ordinary story unfolding in an extraordinary and fantastical fashion. The author puts you right there in the heartbeat of the characters, smack dab in the middle of everything. It is a refreshing read and the character development is done well, something I'd expect from reading a full length novel. This author does it with complete ease. The characters are those people you want to spend time with on a daily basis.

I would read more. This could be a series, somewhat like WKRP in Cincinnati.

Front Page Kiss. Female Psychology 101, 50 Shades of Grey and an entire main-stream romance novel all rolled into one small package.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great and fun read November 17, 2012

I loved this short story, a fun book with a bit of romance, keeps you wondering if she is going to get her man. Having worked in the "newspaper world" all my life, that made it even more enjoyable.

More About the Author

Perhaps the miniature typewriter she received on her fourth birthday inspired Eve Gaal to spend her life writing poetry, stories and even books from a very early age. By age twelve she was sending poems to publishers and learning valuable albeit painful lessons about rejection.
Determined, her poems appeared in yearbooks, college newspapers and a small collection of journals. Creative necessity, forced her into the corporate world of newspapers where she used her talent to come up with clever advertising copy to influence unwary consumers into believing they needed new cars.

A full time freelance writer, her writing has appeared in anthologies, and online magazines. More of her writing can be found at:
