5.0 out of 5 stars More Moore is always good
This collection is not as long as the previous (Horny Tales), but still great to own. Moore's style and stories are smooth and so well drawn. I really enjoy that his stories usually have a point--even the portraits seem to tell a story. It doesn't hurt that his sense of humor is prevalent throughout. If you have HT, then get this too! It would have only gotten 4 stars...

3.0 out of 5 stars More Moore naughty goodness!
This second volume of Richard Moore's "Short Strokes" adult tales is both more and less than the first.

Like the previous volume, there were a couple of standout tales, but many feel like a segemented chapter to a more well-rounded story. In this one, Moore's mature take on the story of a childhood classic, in "The Real Oz," and another fun tale called "Stood...

4.0 out of 5 stars Sadly, a bit too short for my liking..., August 15, 2007
This review is from: Short Strokes: Volume 2 (Paperback)
I read and greatly enjoyed the first volume of Richard Moore's "Short Strokes"...unfortunately, the second volume is a bit shorter and more teasing than the first, but still well worth the reading. For the available price, it's definitely a great buy - just not quite on the wonderful level of the first.

3.0 out of 5 stars More Moore naughty goodness!, May 8, 2010
This review is from: Short Strokes: Volume 2 (Paperback)
This second volume of Richard Moore's "Short Strokes" adult tales is both more and less than the first.

Like the previous volume, there were a couple of standout tales, but many feel like a segemented chapter to a more well-rounded story. In this one, Moore's mature take on the story of a childhood classic, in "The Real Oz," and another fun tale called "Stood Up" were the ones that I enjoyed the most. The former for it's ballsy play with a timeless American classic story and the latter for the nice emotional interplay within the tale. Also, both featured a pencils only art style, which brought home just how gifted Richard Moore is as an artist. The level of detail in the shading and linework is just incredible. Better than how some guys look in ink and color.

Of course, I did miss seeing some color in this volume (minus the cover), which was present in the first one. Also, the pin ups didn't have as much flair for me this time around, either. Also, some of the sex scenes felt a bit more "tame" than in Richard's earlier efforts. It certainly felt a bit less explicit. Although, I can still think of few artists who have a better grasp on the form and curves of the female body, than Richard does. The man just knows how to make sexy (and realistic looking) women.

All in all, another fine creation from the talented (and somewhat twisted) mind of Richard Moore. Fans of his work will no doubt enjoy this, as will fans of fantasy based material. But the too quick feeling from most of the stories, as well as the lack of some color images, too, really holds it back and makes it only a "solid effort", rather than an "outstanding" one. I hope this is something that will be addressed, if future volumes come about.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I expected, January 18, 2008

Drawing are good. But, I'm not really a fan of nude fantasy creatures having sex in black and white. I am more into human heterosexual sex in colored glossy paper.
