Book Description

August 9, 2000
More than twenty years after the publication of LOVE IS LETTING GO OF FEAR, best-selling author Gerald Jampolsky brings us the highly anticipated sequel. In SHORTCUTS TO GOD, Dr. Jampolsky sheds light on the human longing to be closer to the mystical parts of our lives, and teaches us to abandon our fears and embrace honesty, forgiveness, and love. When asked why the sequel has been so long in coming, Dr. Jampolsky explained that learning about love can be a lifelong expedition—one that has continuous cycles of hardship, fulfillment, and revelation, each of which builds on the past to shape the self. Fortunately for the rest of us, Dr. Jampolsky has emerged from his own spiritual journey much the wiser, and ready to share the insights and revelations he’s gleaned along the way. SHORTCUTS TO GOD will jump-start your journey to love and spirituality, whether you’re just starting down the path or well on your way to enlightenment.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

With its cartoon cover and simple-sounding title, one might expect this to be a superficial self-help book that cashes in on the growing interest in spiritual growth. Fortunately, author Gerald Jampolsky has far more personal integrity than that. It's clear from his thoughtful writing that he wants to offer a substantial and loving book on developing a direct relationship with God. Unfortunately, though, the abundance of overly cheerful cartoon illustrations and double exclamation marks make this look like a book that's been dumbed-down to be more accessible. Rather than inviting readers into Jampolsky's 18 excellent lessons for personal transformation, the child-like format creates a distraction. Nonetheless, the shortcuts are helpful, offering uncomplicated ways to find intimacy with spirit. Overall this is a wise and wonderful lesson book. --Gail Hudson

Review

“SHORTCUTS’ 18 lessons are earnest and powerful bridges over the resistances we build up in a lifetime, amply illustrated with vignettes from Jampolsky’s own past--brief, pithy, sincere, ringing with truth. It’s impossible to resist Jampolsky’s sincerity and faith.” —NAPRA ReView“For those who have been taking the long way or lost their spiritual way, try SHORTCUTS TO GOD.” —Newark Star Ledger

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Spiritual, October 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Shortcuts to God (Paperback)
I found this book to be beautifully written and totally inspirational and spiritually. When first I started it, I found myself totally engrossed in it and was unable to put it down. Dr. Jampolsky writes in an easy to understand style. The thing I really liked about it is that Dr. Jamposky was willing to speak about himself, he willingly shared his experiences with us. This is a great book, beautifully written, not too long. Anyone reading it will enjoy it for style and content. M.L.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding God Wherever You Look, May 19, 2001
This review is from: Shortcuts to God (Paperback)
I remember reading Jerry's book "Love Is Letting Go of Fear" many years ago, when my own life was in chaos and I literally didn't know where to turn. Its simplicity cut through my intellectual arguments very quickly, touching deeper truths that my own fears were masking at that time in my life. I believe that this newest of Jerry's books does the same thing, at a time when so many of us are cynical about our spiritual lives, yet are constantly searching for ways to reach deeper. Jerry makes it sound easy to move beyond our own fears, and when I am able to drop my intellectual pretenses and let these words in, something quite wonderful happens. I do move beyond my own blocks to see the larger truth. This isn't a book for people who want to ponder complex theological concepts but it is a book that will spark something important in your heart.

I keep this book very close to my person and readily access it on the occasions when I succumb to life's frustrations. The illustrations alone are very meaningful reminders that bring me back to a peaceful, loving center.
