Book Description

Listen to the World May 2003
This guide uses colour bar charts to provide an effective tool for the radio Dxer and listener. It is easy to see from the guide what is being broadcast in a particular language at a particular time and to identify a broadcast on a particular frequency. Fifteen different languages are shown in different colours and for the others the language is identified under the bar. This volume contains: the A03 schedules; domestic shortwave broadcasts; contact details for the main international broadcasters; other reference material; and an article on one aspect of shortwave listening for people new to the hobby.

1.0 out of 5 stars Book Is Out Of Date, October 6, 2011
This review is from: The Shortwave Guide (Listen to the World) (Paperback)
This book is out of date. I was going to buy volumes 1 and 2, but the books seem to be out of date. It would have been better if they would have a website that would have this kind of information available like they do in the books. What good is a book when the radio stations frequently change schedules according to budget cuts, seasonal scheduling, frequency changes. Shortwave radio in a book is hard to keep up. I wish they would make these things every year instead of Volumes 1 and 2. Just like the Passport to World Band Radio that was around from
1985 to 2009. The World Radio TV Handbook is a great alternative to these books. Save your money!
