Very easy, but very informative,

This review is from: The Shoshone (True Books: American Indians) (Paperback)
This book is very, very easy -- perfect for an early-grades report on Native Americans. It explains the living conditions of the Shoshone, demonstrating the harshness of their territory and the scarcity of game and water. The book has a good map right at the beginning. It highlights celebrations, oral histories, and traditions. It does a good job developing the problems of culture contact with the whites and the move from independence to the reservations.Great photos. |
