As entertaining a read as it is informative,

This review is from: Shoshoni Pony (Hardcover)
Shoshoni Pony is a picture book that teaches young readers about the Shoshoni Native American tribe, and how they integrated horses into their lives. Quality color illustrations by Dick Lee and a straightforward prose by Carol Lynn MacGregor make Shoshoni Pony as entertaining a read as it is informative regarding the Native American culture which is its storytelling background.

This review is from: Shoshoni Pony (Hardcover)
It is wonderful to see a children's book that is not only inviting and entertaining to children, but also written by an accomplished historian. The pictures and text complement each other well. Young children (2-6) will enjoy following along with the pictures as it's read aloud, and older children (7-11) will enjoy learning about the Shoshoni on their own.
