Impressive!, December 19, 2008

There is no much to write about this recording but it is just one of the best recordings ever, both sound and performance. While for experts the 11 is musically superior than the 12, I prefer the epic, heroic tone from the 12 than the tragic, dark sense from the 11. Anyway I love both symphonies and I strongly recommend this version, specially if you want to know more of Shostakovich at his best.
