Disc 01 Better, Disc 02, Best,

How can you go wrong? Two discs. One disc featuring all of the tracks (unmixed and in full) from the Shot Down On Safari LP released on BC Recordings. Another disc featuring a superb mix of the best drum n' bass ever produced. Exclusive tracks only spun by the very best drum n' bass djs. Only one complaint: whoever mixed the second disc didn't let the tracks playout long enough. Most of the tracks are played for only about 1:30 or 2:00. You get an idea of what they are, but it's still too fast. But, don't let that stop you! This is a great cd for any DJ or casual raver, regardless of your style!

This is a wonderful release by BC. For all of those that have select tracks by Bad Company or CEIEC this cd definitley won't disappoint. Track one is like a blissfull flash back to ragga infused Hardcore. Throughout both disks the listener gets a feel for what dnb is all about all tied together with eclectic sounds and top notch production. This a definitley not for the timid.an absoulute plus for any dnb diehard.

I do not need to get into the brilliance and the unmatched power and production that is Bad Company. If you don't know this, then you are not a true D&B fan. Each track on CD 1 is as rough and rude as anything else out there. The only thing that holds this CDset back is disc #2. It obviously is not the tracks--Breathe (w/my girl [in my Junglist Dreams] Sage on the vocals [w/ the S.F. Phunkatech Cru--which everyone who reads this should check, along w/ Soundmurderer & SK1, all of whom are the some of the best stateside D&B producers goin']-by the way- I miss u Roxanne {also Phunkatech} since u left FTL.) and Space Walk and The Nine--which whatever WANKER mixed this only let drop for about 30 seconds--(it is one of my all time favorite tracks, period) and just about all of the others tracks are unmatched--the problems are the mixing and more importantly the sound quality of the recording. The entire disc sounds muffled-which makes me crazy because, as I said before, these are some of my all time favorites. If you have a problem w/ the sound quality, be a man (or beautiful Jungle Bunnies, like Sage and Roxanne [fellas {and ladies who care}, these 2 are extremely gorgeous, more-so than Rap and Reid Speed, for their music & their beauty]) and seek out each of these trax on wax! The previous few sentences w/ all the ([{,'s in 'em are what you call a massive stream of consciousness tangent (or a demented train wreck of thought--whatever you want to call it) that have absolutely nothing to do w/ this review, so I apologize. Anyway, the bottom line is this is Bad Company and that really is all that needs to be said.

ok lets think back a little now, Bad company appeared in 1998 with some amazing tunes including the classic The Nine which is regarded as one of the best dnb tunes ever made by many, then they released before this album two amazing albums that are still regarded as some of the best production to ever hit the scene, also making the book of the bad ep series which is also amazing..ok now fast forward to shot down on safari album. i waited for a very long time for this album to hit stores, it was in the works for over a year. while the production on this albums is amazing like everything else they do, the albums lacks in many ways. The albums often represents wut many dnb anthem haters call "clownstep" as this album is not wut you would expect of Bad Company. Bad Company are dark and mental and very unique sound. This albums comes accross yet diverse but to any die hard BC fan, this album is whole style change. The only tracks that i liked on this album is the hornet, and wednesday, snow cats(which is blantently cheesy) and dr shevago. Dogsploitation is [bad]and is a crummy remix on the classic "dogs on the moon". I, however have realized that when you take into consideration that if this wasnt a BC album, dr shevago and wednesday are still really good funky tunes. even though i liked snow cats, its is pure cheese, its a perfect examply of clownstep just like Dillinja ever so popular "twist em out" in 2002. This albums lack the patent style that die hard BC fans come to expect, DARK AND RUDE!! overall the only tune that stands out on this album was The Hornet, which was rinsed out on dub for a year before it even came out, so by the time this album came out, it was boring! ok ok now my opinion on disk 2 overall this album is pretty mediocre and just be lucky that you got it on cd, cause the only thing that this is worth is the best of the bad mix. if your expecting BC to deliever the darkness, then dont buy this album but if your expect cheesy, goofy dancefloor drum and bass that has become so popular in 2002, then this is the album for you. but with the recent split of BC, they are now returing to the dark side which is a good sign while the groups original leader no longer produce with them and now FRESH makes pure chessy dancefloor anthem garbage....so the plus to all this is that the next, hopefully a next, album will be dark and brutal like Bad Company has done in the past in conclusion, the tunes are weak, the production is amazing, but save your money and go get inside the machine or digital nation if you havnt already

I just picked up this CD at the store and I am amazed to say the least. It is the first CD released on Dieselboy's new label HUMAN and it is a winner. If you like hard d'n'b like I do, BUY THIS AT ALL COSTS. If you aren't a fan of d'n'b, BUY IT ANYWAYS because it will make you a fan. This is one of the best CDs to come out in d'n'b in 2003 so far, and I am sure this is not the last that will be OFF THA HOOK in d'n'b this year, but you gotta start somewhere. If this CD does the sales that it will most certainly be predicted to do, then we should expect more and more good d'n'b from the UK and US.
