5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning work!
Mr. Ginzburg for me has captured the thing that is New York. I got several of these books as gifts for friends going to the City for the first time. It is much easier than trying to tell them about a city they'll only experience a small piece of.

2.0 out of 5 stars A social view of New York at the end of the century.
This book is intresting by showing New York trough the season and everyday life (street scene, political meeting, people ...). But pictures are too gray and compare to the works that have been done by other photographers on this extrodinary city we could have expect a more beautiful graphism, beautiful pictures and a higher quality of the print (see the great example...

5.0 out of 5 stars How do you capture a thousand stories? With a picture!, March 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Shot New York (Paperback)
Beauty, ugliness, joy, tragedy, humor, on and on, and on, Mr. Ginzburg trains his eye on a tiny slice of time and captures in only a few frames the moments, people and places that make New York one of the greatest cities in the world. This book should be in the cornerstone time capsules of all new buildings in New York, as well as an heirloom essetial for every New Yorker's private library. With sharp writing and dynamic visuals the team of Ginzburg and Ginzburg have done it again. If you love New York, or just excellent photography, this book is a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great ice-breaker, my guests are fascinated., March 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Shot New York (Paperback)
The book is a great ice-breaker. When people visit my place, they grab it from the coffee table. First they look up what happened on their birthdays, then look for their passions: gossip, sports, celebrities, wildlife.. Princess Di's outfit being checked out by Donna Karan, s&m in Soho, Pete Sampras making a game-winning slam. It's like taking a month in New York City with a chauffeur and endless cash.
