FAIRYTALE WEDDINGS

Ella Montague was invited to a wedding—her own!

The inspiration behind the Cinderella Ball was simple—come single, leave wed. By midnight perfect strangers could find themselves married…as if by magic!

When Ella Montague's Prince Charming had left her, she lost her faith in fairy tales. But now Rafe Beaumont was back! The Montagues had destroyed his sister's life with their romantic nonsense—he wanted revenge. He'd marry Ella and break her heart….

But once wed, Rafe discovered that marrying Ella hadn't broken her dreams of happily-ever-afters, but restored them! She'd married for love—now all she had to do was convince her stubborn husband!

"Day Leclaire's books are a joy to read…"

4.0 out of 5 stars He marries for revenge, she for love, November 26, 2004
This review is from: Shotgun Marriage (Mills & Boon Romance) (Hardcover)
Rafe Beaumont is a typical early Leclaire hero: tall, dark, handsome, protective of his family, and arrogant as all get-out. So, since his younger sister Shayne got her heart broken at one of the Cinderella Balls held by the Montague family, Rafe decides to put an end to the balls by marrying his former love interest Ella Montague, then leaving her and breaking her heart (thus proving that the Cinderella Balls' promise of true love is a sham). So off Rafe marches to the ball. He attempts to blackmail Ella into marrying him; she agrees because she actually still loves him. They marry, then he has an attack of conscience, confesses his scheme, and leaves her the same night, deciding to get his revenge by other means.

But Ella is a pretty cool heroine, so after a short interval, she packs her bags and follows her brooding husband back to his home in Costa Rica. When she gets there, to her surprise, she is mistaken for La Estrella, a mythical figure supposed to bring happiness and prosperity to the area. Now if she could just bring happiness to her confused and revenge-minded husband . . .

They eventually get it right. It just takes them a while.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairytale Wedding, March 28, 2000
Rafe Beaumont was back in Ella Montague's life. He wanted revenge for what the Montagues has done to his sister. So what was much a better way to do that than married Ella, the great Montague daughter, and then broke her heart by living her. It was a good plan until Rafe realized that the woman he married was not at all like he thought she was.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tyrant Is Not So Tender, April 7, 2009

Okay this is not in any way, shape, form, or fashion funny. It's not even close to the first book, "Temporary Husband." In fact this book is a tear jerker.
Rafe Beaumont blamed the Montagues for his sister Shayne's unhappiness. She had gone to the Cinderella Ball and met her prince, she not only met him, she married him, only she wasn't legal age, so Rafe broke up their marriage. Now Shayne is miserable. Of course this isn't his fault, nooooo! It's the Montagues for giving the Cinderella Balls.
Then he made plans to wreak the Montague's Cinderella Ball to avenge his sister. Not once does he see he was the cause of Shayne's unhappiness.
He first put her in a home with her aunt Jackie, when she was only three (she was like the aunt from "Temporary Husband" the hero had to fight to keep the two boys from).
She treated Shayne badly. Now years later Rafe finds a way to get someone back because his once outgoing sister is now a very sad hermit.
Rafe goes to the Cinderella Ball using his sister ticket. He marries Ella and his plan is to leave her, thus proving he Cinderella Balls don't give love-until-you-die kind of happiness.
Then he feels bad about what he has done and he leaves Ella (what I didn't understand is that is what he had planned in the first place)
Any way Ella gets on a plane and goes to Costa Rica, where she is mistaken for La Estrella. And she tries to fix Shayne, Rafe and his problems with a with the villagers, but most of all with their marriage.
