Editorial Reviews

Dragon Times #14

They really are an infallible guide, a point of reference, a source of inspiration, a companion on the long journey to mastery of the art of Shotokan karate.

Product Description

Here we have the cream of the JKA instructors class, supervised by the Maestro, Masatoshi Nakayama. Together they demonstrate and explain in great detail the fine art of Shotokan kata and just how it should be performed. The series is uncompromising in its attention to detail, the instructors powerful, dynamic, and fluid, the location footage at temples and places of natural beauty, quite superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Definitive JKA Shotokan Karate Series, May 15, 1999
This review is from: JKA Shotokan Karate Kata Series-Vol 3 (Tsunami) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
For anyone seriously interested in Japanese Shotokan Karate this series is a must. The kata are superbly demonstrated, with explanations and applications clear and unequivocal. It is easy to see from the video why the JKA enjoys its formidable reputation. As an invaluable source of reference, this should be a part of every Martial Artist's library. There is now no longer any excuse for misunderstandings or variations in kata, brought about by misinterpretation. The wealth of knowledge and expertise of Japan's finest, is now available for everyone.
