5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book, October 28, 2010
This review is from: What You Should Know About Autism Spectrum Disorders. Revised Edition. (Paperback)
My nephew was recently diagnosed with autism which led me to search for more information about his condition. In looking for informative books on the topic I came upon this gem of a book. I was able to learn a great deal about my nephew's condition such as what to expect from him, how I can nurture him, what I can expect as he grows older, and a wealth of knowledge on his condition's cause and how it can be treated. This book is so full of information yet the way in which the book is structured makes the massive amount of knowledge seem less insurmountable. My nephew and I are very close as are he and my son. This book helped my son and I cope with the news and we now feel at ease. Using the tips in this book as a guide we are learning how to interact with him in a way that is beneficial to all of us. I am very grateful to the author of this book for giving my family solace. I already bought a copy for my sister so that she and my brother-in-law can learn to better cope with their son's condition. I recommend this book to anyone who has a relative with autism and to those who just want to learn about this disorder. A+

As a mother of an autistic boy I wanted to learn more about what's in store for me as my son grows up.
I was glad to find a lot of information on the effects autism can have on a person during his or her lifetime.
What does autism mean at school, at work, in relationships etcetera.
Besides this information there's a lot of information on the symptoms of autism, probable causes and the best interventions.
