5.0 out of 5 stars Great lessons on how to forgive
This is a great book. The techniques it recommends were the ones I used years ago when I had someone I needed to forgive.

1.0 out of 5 stars Religious
Wish I had scrolled down to the one star review. In addition to being totally religious, which the description does not mention, it tediously cites the bible and does nothing more than come to one basic conclusion: turn it all over to Jesus. If that helps you, buy the book. If not, you will have to add Dr. Lynch to your list of people who need to be forgiven.

This is a great book. The techniques it recommends were the ones I used years ago when I had someone I needed to forgive.

I borrowed the book a while back, and when God brought another situation needing forgiveness in my life, I realized I needed my own copy.

A lack of forgiveness leads to bitterness, which is most distructive to the one who NEEDS to forgive, not the one who offended. This book helps the reader forgive so that bitterness is no longer a problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help for troubled souls, March 14, 2000

This review is from: I Should Forgive, But (Paperback)
After reading it myself (twice), I have bought several copies of this book for friends. Dr. Lynch explains and provides practical suggestions for all the emotional and relational problems surrounding forgiveness -- forgiving others, forgiving yourself, forgiving God; dealing with memories, reconciling, dealing with people who deny they hurt you, etc etc. His approach covers both information useful to you if you need to receive or need to give forgiveness, and information useful to people who are helpers to others, professionally or informally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Misbeliefs about forgiveness are exposed and dispelled, December 11, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: I Should Forgive, But (Paperback)
Dr. Lynch accomplishes an amazing feat in this book. He brings us into his councelling sessions and lets us understand the real-life barriers to forgiveness. This book delivers on its promise to equip us with tools we can use to cleanse ourselves of unforgiveness and avoid the self-destructive results of a life of bitterness. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs to be forgiven or needs to forgive.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Should Forgive, But..., October 29, 2011

This review is from: I Should Forgive, But (Paperback)
For anyone who wants to be set free from a life of self imprisonment because of anger, resentments, etc this is the book for you. This book helped to change my life. I learned how and why it is necessary to forgive, even in the most difficult situations. It taught me that forgiveness free's yourself from inner bondage, and it does not mean that in forgiving someone you have absolved them of their wrongs because some can be too horrible to accept, but you are able to move past it for yourself. Great book!

This book addresses all the reasons we are afraid to forgive and experience the freedom that comes with letting things go. It also addresses common biblical misconceptions concerning foregiveness. I've recently read 3 other books on forgiveness and this was by far the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgiveness: No more confusion, you CAN forgive., June 2, 2009
By
SkyRamsey "SkyRamsey" (N. Ft. Myers, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Should Forgive, But (Paperback)
I have given this book I Should Forgive, But¿ to friends and relatives who've struggled with forgiveness. This book is written in such a way that you don't have to read the entire book, but you can go directly to the chapter that deals with the particular confusion you have about forgiveness.
For example: there is a chapter that deals with the topic of how can I forgive when I know they will just do it again?

The back of the book lists the different dilemmas one may have concerning forgiveness. NOT forgiving someone does not hurt them because they don't feel it 24/7 like the person with the unforgiveness does. NOT forgiving someone keeps us in a state of bitterness that eventually will affect our health and other relationships, directly. I know from personal experience and this book helped me tremendously. I am no longer depressed and sick because of having learned and worked through my own issues with the use of this book. Remember: it only works if you APPLY what it's telling you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Biblical solutions to personal problems, September 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Should Forgive, But (Paperback)
This book has an intriguing title but unless you believe in biblical solutions to personal problems it will probably be of little interest. It is a highly religious oriented book.
