Book Description

December 13, 2002
This book is to replace the former edition of this book.

The book is a practical, easy-to-read book for parents who are facing custody issues. The author is a mother and a family law attorney who has a Ph.D. in psychology. She has practiced custody law for over twenty-six years, and has witnessed and participated as an attorney in the greatest tragedy of all--- the custody battle. She wrote this book to help parents determine whether seeking custody is right for them and their children. The book contains seven steps toward determining whether a parent should seek custody, a review of the litigation process, a review of the alternative dispute resolution process, and a sampling of the Georgia custody, visitation, and child support laws. This book is necessary because some parents seek custody for the wrong reasons, some children are forced to live with parents who should not have been awarded custody, some custody litigants exhaust unnecessarily much of their financial resources, and custody battles are destructive to the parents and their children.
