Book Description

Do you suffer from shoulder pain or shoulder tension? How about neck pain?
Shoulder and neck pain can be very debilitating.

Think about all the ways you use your shoulders and neck: whether it is working at a computer, driving, engaging in your favorite activities, turning your head, sleeping, or even picking up a fork to eat can be painful and difficult.

Shoulder tightness and neck pain are your body's way of letting you know that you are risking a more serious injury.

It is vitally important to prevent and address shoulder and neck issues as soon as possible, before more serious injuries occur. The average shoulder injury causes a person to miss 28 days of work!

In "Release Your Shoulders, Relax Your Neck," you will discover:

* How to eliminate shoulder tension and neck pain with 53 highly effective   shoulder and neck exercises.

* Photos of the exercises with easy to follow instructions.

* The main causes of shoulder and neck pain.

* Key prevention strategies to stop problems before they start so you can have healthy shoulders and a pain free neck.

* Why computer users are at high risk for injury and what to do to significantly reduce your risk.
* How to speed healing of shoulder and neck injuries and get back into your favorite activities.
* Anatomy of the shoulder joints, how they move and why they can get so tight.

This book is a must for people who work on computers, dental hygienists, hair stylists, athletes and anyone who carries a lot of stress in their neck or shoulders.

Personal note from the author:

As a yoga instructor with over 16 years of experience, I can tell you that one of the top questions I have heard from my students time after time is how can they relieve shoulder pain and neck pain. The right yoga postures can keep your shoulders and neck healthy and pain free. Best of all you don't even have to have any experience with yoga to use this book. That's why I wrote it; to show people how to use gentle yoga postures to relieve shoulder and neck issues and also to help them understand why their shoulders and neck become painful or tight in the first place. Think of this as your healthy shoulder handbook!

5.0 out of 5 stars No More Tightness! July 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have noticed that the more I time I had spent at the computer the more I was experiencing pain and tightness in my neck and shoulders. It kept getting worse and worse. This was a big problem because my job requires long hours at the computer. Massage helps but I certainly can't afford that everyday! Looking for a solution I found this book on Amazon and decided to buy it. I was able to try the exercises right away - which were both easy and highly effective at providing relief! I am able to do them anytime and much of the discomfort associated with my shoulder and neck problems has gone away. A super easy fix! There is also a section in the book which explains why people who work on computers are at such high risk for shoulder and neck injuries and how to significant reduce this risk. This was a nice, unexpected surprise; it's good to understand the root of the problem so I can make adjustments. Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always something NEW to Learn July 12, 2012
By dr.rick
Format:Kindle Edition
After 35+ years of providing care for patients with chronic neck pain, I thought I had implemented every technique and strategy available to help patients manage their pain. Following my own recent neck and shoulder injury, I was pretty confident that I could manage my own problem with out much difficulty. "I WAS WRONG"...the doctor heal thyself was not working. I began a quest to find anything new that would help me recovery. I found "Release Your Shoulder,Relax your Neck" on my journey and after reading it, began to try some of the exercises provided. Following the first session and doing just 3 of the exercises, I noticed improved motion in my shoulder and most importantly, less pain while lifting my arm. I continued doing the exercises Howard suggested and have made a complete recovery. I have now added this book with Howard's well thought out strategy to my treatment of patients old and new.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice photo illustration July 29, 2013
By Anne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great book with description of each exercise and photos to show you each proper pose. I also like the fact that the author discuss about the anatomy of the shoulder joint and muscle groups. The author also took the time to categorize each exercise so I can start with the easy ones. I'm looking forward to trying them out to relief tension on my shoulders. And I'll remember to take a break every hour from glueing to the computer screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jump start to release shoulder & neck tension January 6, 2013
By Carolyn
Format:Kindle Edition
You can't help but find yourself following along while reading. Clear instructions for positions and excellent pictures. Reading this book has helped to bring an awareness to how simple it can be to incorporate easy stretching postures, breathing and taking breaks throughout the day to release tension for a higher quality life. I have found relief from shoulder and neck pain after incorporating many of these stretches into my daily and/or weekly schedule.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good advice clearly written July 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This brief guide to doing exercises to benefit your shoulders is more useful than other lengthier works. The illustrations are clear and the advice is sound. Giving a label for the difficulty of each exercise lets you know which ones to start with. I would have given five stars but on the kindle the photo showing the exercise was often not on the same page as the text which describes it. You could easily figure this out, but it would have been more useful if they were side by side. I will be using this guide to help me better my shoulder health.
