To Mr. Biel (creator)what a super concept for a game! My family is known for hosting incredibly fun parties, so every year for Christmas I make sure to either make-up a game or find one that can be played with lots of people. When I read about this DVD game, it seemed perfect so I purchased all four DVDs. I have to say, not only did we have the greatest time playing them, but everyone at the party (50+ people)swore they were going to purchase the DVD game for family members or friends. Okay, so you can only play the game one time - but each DVD takes about three hours to play. I look at that as a value considering it's a huge amount of entertainment for less than $20. Also, since I've played all four DVDs, I let each of the party guests take one of them home to give to a friend or family member so I feel like they will still get much more use. There are two drawbacks to the game, one is that there are several repeated movies from DVD to DVD (perhaps this was due to copyrighted material, not sure), the other is the scoring in the final round (you should be allowed to bet exact amounts vs. 15, 30, etc.) Regardless, the game is still great and I will purchase these again for future parties I attend. I'm also excited that more DVDs will be coming out and I will purchase those as well!

Friends of mine needed a game to play for a small party, someone brought Shout at the Movies . This trivia was fun for a DVD game. However, Many like me who are film buffs felt the game was slightly dumb down for a youth market.

My suggestion is make a game with older movies. This edition seems for for more for families running mainly 1980-present films

Now to the good points, it is a fast paced trivia game that keeps score for the players and lets you know where you stand after each round. It is a group game, so great fun family and friends

My family, ages ranging from 8 to 93 played this game on Christmas Eve and we had a blast. True you only get three games, but if we were to have rented a few videos, or all gone out to see a movie or bowling it would have cost just as much, probably more. You have to look at buying this game as a one time entertainment for a party or get together. Just as if you were gong to buy some pizza or something. It was a lot of fun and kept us laughing and enjoying ourselves as a family. Its intent is not to be like a computer game that you play over and over. Its intent is for one evening of good clean fun. The creators are very up front about that. It is what it is and I thought it was a blast. I am 34 by the way.

I got this for X-mas and I must say this is a fun little DVD. It is a DVD party game that has 8 rounds and is fun to play.

PREMISE: There are 8 rounds. Most of the rounds you have to SHOUT out the answer! and there are 3 rounds you arent supposed to. They show you lines, clips, build up stills from movies, and you shout out the name of the movie, not the actor or description of the movie.

MOVIES INCLUDE: Breakfest Club, Psycho, The Last Temptation of Christ, Catch Me If You Can, etc.

THOUGHTS: Excellent! I hate the "you must be heard" rule. DUH! I can be heard easily (because I have one of those loud, and low voices like most teens have) but that dosen't kill the game!

So buy this game now and tell me what you think!

My friends and I, all in college, are major movie buffs, so when another friend told me about the game, I was eager to try it. Some parts are tough, but with the team setup of the game, it seems to even out. Favourite rounds were Still Crazy: a round where scenes are built piece by piece, a word association round: 6 clues are provided and the idea is to name the movie, and the quotes round, of course! The hardest rounds were the matching and the trivia rounds. Still, we had great fun. Its better if the teams are evenly matched, then its more fun. The main objection I have is that in the 8 rounds, many of the movies are dated and overused. There are great ones, though...Rain Man, Cast Away!! Also, this game is linear in progression, there is no variation in the order of the questions. Scoring uses the honour system. There are 3 games, each lasting around 45 minutes at the very fastest, its the same as the cost of a regular DVD and is much more fun with lots of people. I have bought this for several people and some of my friends have as well. Recently I played a game where a 12 year old and an 82 year old were playing so don't worry about the age thing, both enjoyed it. Really, I recommend it.

love these games...originally purchased @ wal-mart for 9.99 each...then no longer available...thank goodness for amazon...wish I didn't have to pay shipping (bought 3) for each but if you want it bad enough I guess you'll pay. Anyway, good for the next couple of holidays, each game takes a couple hours to play.

This game is very enjoyable for the whole family.

We love this game! We have played both this game and Scene It, and we think this is superior. It is true that you only get 3 games per disc, which is our least favorite part of the game. The other review written by the creator of the game is a little misleading. The disc has three games, and has about 3.4-3.5 gigabytes of data, which means they probably could fit 4 games on a disc if they are using a standard single-layer DVD (4.7GB), or up to 8 games on a disc if they used a dual-layer DVD (9.4GB). Dual-layer is what most DVD movies you purchase are, and that would be normal for something mass-produced like this game.
As I said though, we do love this, and we plan to swap discs with my brother who has a different version when we have both played them all.

I appreciate the creator coming to the game's defense. Yes, the game is fun; there definately was a lot of thought put into how it played and was packaged. First rate all the way in terms of game play and "fun factor".
But, the game is a terrible value. It sells for $20 on amazon ($23-28 in stores depending on where you get it). That amounts to a little less than $7 per game. The game takes you 20-30 minutes to play... No other game that I know of has this little value. Imagine only being able to play a new video game three times while shelling out $20. Wouldn't fly with anyone.
I also own Reel Clues. It has some of the same types of categories and does reuse clips with other clues. Sometimes it is annoying, but we've played the game 8-9 times already and it hasn't been a problem. Since the game is the same cost as Shout About...you make your own conclusions.
Again, the game is fun; no doubt about that. But, you certainly need to be aware of it's limited usage. Mr. Beil: you have made a quality product, but the real reason for the limited number of games is in the licensing costs per clip. Dual-layer DVDs hold plenty of more data than what you have on the single layer (which isn't even full) DVD. And you do shuffle clips and repeat movies within a game (especially within the three games). I'm not faulting you for that, I expect it, but if you are going to respond to valid criticism please be honest.
