I've used the Shout STICK Gel for more than a decade. It was great for removing organic stains from cotton. In recent years it disappeared off store shelves. Nor could my supermarket order it for me. So I bought the Shout SPRAY version. Same instructions and process. The stains did not completely remove. This result was consistent with each pre-treating, each wash-load. I cook or prepare only scratch-made meals and bake scratch desserts.. inevitable food stains working in my kitchen. Desperate to find the stick before the planet was completely devoid of them, I looked online... This Advanced Gel must be it's replacement. Works like a charm, exactly as the stick did. BTW, the process is simple- rub a bit on stain, into the cloth, let sit for a few minutes (I leave it sit at least 30min to overnight, or till your next washload.) Then machine wash garment as usual. Also, it's one stain remover that's SAFE- no chlorine bleach or harmful solvents. There's a competitor's stain remover, the name of which rhymes with Shout. It damaged my cotton sweatshirts- must contain a bleach. I don't know what Shout's removal action is, but I imagine it's enzymatic. Here's the old stick and the new "advanced" thick gel:

I wrote this review in the hopes that this version will gain enough fans to be around to purchase the next time I need to buy another bottle. Seems majority consensus rules what products live or die in this day and age. Runners-up get booted. Much less choice. Lots of my favorite age old products that served so well have been discontinued. K2R in the spray can is off the shelves too. That's another miracle stain remover gone from brick and mortar stores, but available online. Thank goodness. Lowilla (sensitive skin) soap is sadly, defunct almost a decade now.

We are a messy family! On titanically messy scale, we are just pigs! This is the only product that will get stains out of our clothes. Grease from automotive work, cooking, general stains I have no idea what it was or how it got there. This stuff gets it out!!

Works Well
Seems to get stains out very well. There have been a few things it didn't work on, but in general works better than other products.

Definitely advanced!
I used an earlier version of Shout for years, then thought its cleaning performance had fallen off. I switched to OxyClean gel in a tube and used that for years. Good product. Read more

shout gel
I have been using Shout Gel for years, and I love it. It removes SO MANY stains that other stain removers do not. BUT, the price has gone sky high. Too much!!!!!!!!
