Absolutely S-U-P-E-R-B!!!!, April 17, 2011

My mom sent this CD to me over 10 years ago and it is absolutely SUPERB! Simply BRILLIANT in it's ability to bring sheer joy to your soul! There is a rich collection of traditional American church hymns, 'old time' spirituals and folk-tunes as well as quite a few folk-tunes from other countries. The two spirituals from Africa are incredibly moving (especially from about the middle of "Betelehemu" to the end); you can't help but want to bang your hands on a drum and sway to the rhythm and when the song ends I guarantee that you will have an overpowering urge to hit the replay button. It is just sheer joy! Just listening to the 30-second samples again tonight here on Amazon makes me want to go and pop in my CD. If you are even a small fan of choral music this is worth every single penny!
