5.0 out of 5 stars Original CD vs. Re-Issue, September 29, 2011

This review is from: Shout The Truth (Audio CD)
Let me first say that I am absolutely in love with this album and finally decided to buy it on CD. One of the reasons I love this CD so much is because Ross Kenyon's vocals on the original CD are so unique and give the album such a distinctive sound that I just couldn't get enough of it. I purchased the re-issue of the album and was surprised to hear that Joel Piper's vocals had been added to the CD, replacing the vocals of Ross. In no way am I saying that Joel isn't an amazing vocalist, it's just something that I wasn't expecting to hear and something that you should definitely keep in mind when deciding between purchasing the older version and the re-issue. If you love the original CD because of the unique vocal style that Ross brought to the table then you may be disappointed with what the re-issue has to offer. Either CD is incredible, but do some research before you buy between the two, depending on what you prefer to hear. Happy listening :]

I love this album. I'm a drummer and the Confide drummer is one of the best Christian drummers I have heard for this style of music, right up there with Aaron Gillespie. If you like underoath, in fear and faith, scary kids scaring kids, this is right in there with them. Great guitar riffs, sweet drum rhythms and breakdowns, very talented screamer with actual pitch and range when he screams. very catchy songs, yet they have their own distinct sound. There is nothing I don't like about this album, I didn't like the "such great heights" cover at first but it grew on me. I've probably listened to this album over 100 times. Great to listen to while snowboarding.

This CD is amazing. Confide is such a good band. Though, the re-issue of Shout the Truth is better than this. A must buy for a Confide fan.
